Acrostic :Red and Black

Constantly  they  moved in  shadows  shades of black  and grey

One and  all totally  shrouded  and  hidden  from all colours  of  the  day

Until  she came, hooded  just like  all  the rest. Different  her  head  a shock of red.

Passing all she  kept her  head  down and  her  colour  hidden, like  the  wind  she fled

Longing  so  much  to be  free, no longer  to be  shackled  by  the  chain  that  held evey one

Eventually  she  found  you tall  with hair black and  suddenly  they were gone.

One Liner Wednesday!

I had  to  go  to  the  Doctors  earlier  this  week and  met  my  neighbour  there.

“Hi, how  are  you?” I asked. “OH! I am fine.” She  replied  with  a smile , “how  are  you? ”

“I am  fine  too,  thanks” I said.

It  begs  the  question  why were  we at  the  Doctors?

The Prophesy

spellbook-pages-3637-500

They  all new  what  the  book  foretold and  what was  to come

When  the  sky  would  darken  and  the life  would  leave  the  sun.

Some  took  precautions  , built space  ships  took  supplies and  fled

Those  of  us  who  stayed knew  that  time was  short  and  we would soon be dead.

We felt  the urge  to go to the sea, to escape  the heat and  smell of  the  city

Abandoned  cars  and  burning  streets the  empty  loneliness ,hopelessness  and pity.

We picked up people along  the  way  we all needed to  reach  our final  destination

To witness the  end of our planet, as it got  turned  to  dust  and  blown out  into  the  constellations.

So here  we  sit  at  the  end  of  our planet’s mad,  crazy  days

We all watch  and  wait as the sea boils  and  bubbles in a  golden haze.

None of us  have  any  idea  when this  will all be over  or  when it  will end

Have no fear, when the time  comes  we will all go together,  in a  second  my friend

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

“Can’t Take It In”

Can’t close my eyes
I’m wide awake
Every hair on my body
Has got a thing for this place
Oh, empty my heart
I’ve got to make room for this feeling
It’s so much bigger than me

[Chorus:]
It couldn’t be anymore beautiful
I can’t take it in

Weightless in love…unraveling
For all that’s to come
And all that’s ever been
We’re back to the board
With every shade under the sun
Let’s make it a good one

[Chorus:]
It couldn’t be anymore beautiful
It couldn’t be anymore beautiful
I can’t take it in

Laaaaaaaa ohhhhhhh
I can’t take it in

Laaaaaaaaa ohhhhhh
I can’t take it in
Woahhhhhhh

It couldn’t be anymore beautiful
It couldn’t be anymore beautiful
I can’t take it in

More that I wonder
More than I ever needed
Woahhhhhh
More that I wonder

Oooooohhhhhh

Lyric  from A to Z Lyrics

Press The Button : Part 10

Come on they said  they  are  waiting  for  you . So I  followed  the  children, unsure  of  anything  at  all. I could  not  remember  where  I had  come  from , what  my  name  was or if  anyone  had  come  with  me. The children seemed  to know exactly  where  they  were  going , which was certainly  more  than I  did.

We followed a  long  corridor, dark and metallic . There  where bright blue lights in  the ceiling which gave  the place a clinical look. d70a8d45e359bd7e32b4388de1140538

I kept  close  behind  the  children as I did not  want  to get lost in  this  vast  and  endless place . All was dark  and  cold  and  totally  deserted. The  sound of  our  footsteps  echoed  loudly  as we  traveled  along  this vast  hallway.

After what seemed like  hours  the  children stopped and  told me  to wait. Doing  as I was told  I watched  them walk to a  opening  in the  wall and  disappear. I thought  maybe  that  they had  deserted  me but  after a few  minutes  they returned carrying a cup  of  hot strong  coffee  and  dish of  what looked  like fruit  but  fruit I  had  never  seen before!

lulo-by-quimbaya

I was grateful  for  the coffee and  we  sat  on  the  floor  of  this  hallway . I was surprised  at  how  comfortable  the  floor was as it it look like cold hard  metal. As  we  rested  the  children  encouraged  me  to try  the  fruit, I  did  but  not until  they  had  eaten  some first. I  might be  lost, confused  and loosing my  memory   but  I still had  some faculties  left, and  self  preservation  was  one of  those!

After  a  while  the children  asked  me if  I was ready  to continue, I was. So  we  moved on  after  the  children  had  returned  my  cup  and plate…..I don’t  really  know what  they  did  with them   but they  were gone! The  children  chatted  away  to each other  but I really  couldn’t understand  what  they  were saying  but I  did hear the  word pilot  and  ship  mentioned  more  than once.

Just  before  the  end  of  the hallway we  turned  left  and  there in front of  me  was  a huge hanger, full of people  working  and  strange  planes… were  they planes  they  were not like  the planes I  knew.

I went  to  walk in   but  the  children stopped me , “Careful” they  cautioned, “There is a force field there” they said. A  what , what is a force field. Push  that  button  they  said!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday : Drink

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 25/16

The  lovely  and talented    said :Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “drink.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Pingback and rules  here wp-1463177874038.jpg

Drink  to me only  with thine eyes.” Is  an old  English  song  that  has  always intrigued   me. The  lyrics  are  beautiful   and  have always  touched  my  heart.

Drink to me only with thine eyes,
         And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
         And I’ll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
         Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove’s nectar sup,
         I would not change for thine.
I sent thee late a rosy wreath,
         Not so much honouring thee
As giving it a hope, that there
         It could not withered be.
But thou thereon didst only breathe,
         And sent’st it back to me;
Since when it grows, and smells, I swear,
         Not of itself, but thee.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The  beauty  of  the  words  are  very  touching. Words  of  love.
Coming  back to  the  prompt, drink , and I  do like a drink  occasionally.
To  tell  the  truth  I  have  a  glass  of  wine, preferably  a  full bodied  red.
During  the  day  I  like  coffee black  coffee….. not   too keen on a drink  of tea.
That’s  not  very English  of  me is it!
