Beloved Polar bear carries
Mae with loving care
So tired his burden
He transports
With love

CHAPTER 1
Still they travel on cold and tired but as one
Little Mae and Polar Bear together battle on
The wind and storm assail them yet together
Travelling as one , strengthening each other for ever.
Little Mae your cloak is old and torn , how long have you been travelling?
Since the beginning of my memories Bear and I have been time unraveling.
Bear has always been with me caring, loving and protecting me.
Tired as we are still no end to our journey do I see.
Bear lays down in the snow Little Mae joins him, across his fur her golden tresses flow.
As she sleeps, cold in raggy clothes Bears tells us she was once a Princess not always so.
Bear was once her handsome body guard and happy in a fine home they did abide.
A spiteful witch took Maes memory and turned the young man into a Polar bear, forever to walk at her side.

CHAPTER 2
Polar Bear was sleeping as little Mae awoke
It was still snowing poor little Mae was cold
Mr Siskin landed by little Mae he looked at her then spoke
I have brought you some food , these berries that in my beak I hold.
Little Mae was grateful more than she could say
For she was so hungry not having eaten for some days.
Come now Mr Siskin share these berries with me
What about Polar Bear, let’s let him sleep ,in his dreams he’s free.
In his dreams Polar Bear was once again a young and handsome man
Who was charged with protecting little Mae with his life the best he can.
Little Mae who has no memory of who they are decides to let bear sleep
They have travelled so far and he has kept her so safe, she feels his dreams he should keep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 3
Little Mae was tired so Mr Siskin invited her to stay awhile
He suggested she have Christmas with his friends, to relax an even smile.
Polar Bear was waking, stretching front paws and back
Missing Little Mae, from his side, he jump up tottered and fell back!!
This all this caused a huge commotion among the forest folk
Carefully stepping so as not one to hurt or wipe out any whole families at a stroke!
Carefully setting himself down by Little Mae’s side Polar Bear
Wore a frown, he was always worrying about Little Mae always full of care.
At length it was decided that for Christmas they would stay
All the forest folk were excited and came out to gaze on Polar Bear and Little Mae.
Winter Fairies and pixies out from frozen bushes peep
Mr Siskin introduced each one with a flourish and a tweet!
Polar Bear felt safe and in control , pleased to see his charge looking so excited
He told the older fairies of his and Little Mae’s plight. He was grateful with them to feel united.
Little Mae was so excited to be in such happy company
Polar bear let her run and gather holly and mistletoe, as long as her he could see.
Now even though Polar Bear has to find a way to regain Little Mae’s memories
And her proper size. He was happy to be with Mr Siskin watching Little Mae through the trees.
So for now we can leave Little Mae and the forest folk happily gathering things for Christmas fayre.
I will be back to tell you more soon. I truly hope you will be there!
CHAPTER 4
The Winter Queen of everywhere was a beautiful soul
Although she rules the dead season she is the one that makes all things whole!
She had heard of Polar Bear and his beautiful charge little Mae.
And so while with the forest folk they were busy gathering the Winter Queen came by their way.
At once she recognised the tiny girl and saw through the shape of the bear that did protect her.
She was sister to Little Mae’s Father, she knew the evil magic weaved by a spiteful defector.
At once she stopped to speak first to Polar Bear
Do you remember who you are , where you come from and what your charge was when you were there?
Yes answered Polar Bear I was body guard to my mighty king
He entrusted to my care he daughter Little Mae his most treasured thing.
The dark witch of the East came and threatened my master
She wanted to be his Queen but he did not in any way trust her.
The winter Queen encouraged the bear to tell her more
She said she needed to know everything so he was to tell her what he heard and what he saw.
The witch from the East used every spell she knew
She was determined to be Queen and to get rid of Little Mae too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 5
All the forest folk decided to make Little Mae a new dress
They coiffed her hair and blended colours so all who saw her were impressed!
Little Mae was so grateful she did not know what to say for they had made her smile on such a sad day.
The day that she had, had to bide her loving father farewell and watch him fade away!
The Winter Queen and Polar Bear could not believe their eyes
Little Mae was slowly growing ,she would soon be her normal size.
Her hair was growing darker losing the bright blond fairy sheen
Before their very eyes she was returning to the human Princess she had once been.
All this extra growing was making Little Mae so tired , she also began again to feel the cold
The winter Queen made her a blanket cape of the night sky , which was wondrous to behold !
Let her sleep dear Polar Bear , let her have some rest for will need all her strength, her destiny to full fill.
Little Mae must regain her father’s lands and release her people and deal with the wicked witch , who did her father kill!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 6
Little Mae,once fairy. Now grown back to the beautiful woman she was, strode forth with Polar Bear
They were ready now to face the witch of the East . To avenge all wrongs ( so wicked witch beware)
How long they had been away Mae really could not tell, she had some how escaped the witches evil spell.
Her loyal servant and protector Polar Bear had never left her side , he had guided her and loved her , he kept her safe and well.
The Winter Queen had warned them that they were embarking on a war
The danger they were now facing was one hundred times more evil than they had ever faced before.
She promised them that she would help as the witch of the East had dealt her some evil blows
She hated the East witch for deeds that had been dealt , The Queen wanted to witness the witch in her death throws.
Mae so dark and the Queen so pale, mirrors, almost of each other
Both with Polar Bears set forth to revenge their loss, one a father, the other her beloved brother.
So now we see them setting off on a quest of great danger both bonded by lost love
Both determined to win, both wanting to right the wrongs from the East to smite the witch from above!
AND SO THE TALE MOVES ON.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 7
Mae and Polar Bear , weary from their travels, could not believe the sight
Together with the Winter Queen they had trudged on both day and night .
Where were all the people where are all the homes , the farms, the towns and cities? Vanished, vanished gone!
Tears filled their eyes they could not take any of this in… where was homeland …..this was all wrong!
Mae’s eyes burned but she refused to cry ! Tell me noble Queen how can I avenge this wrong
Winter’s Queen , ice tears frozen on her cheeks turned to Mae and said we shall right this all bad shall we see gone.
Mount up mount up cried the Winter Queen we must find the the wicked witch of the East
Find her lair, burn her, tear her limb from limb . She shall be stopped her face removed , on her bones we shall feast.
They met a child along the way,
Cold and frightened , mama mama was all he’d say.
Mae took the child and wrapped him in her cloak
Warmed the child, bodily, spiritually no words were spoke
Where are your parents little one
Mama gone , mama gone……………..
Hush now child you are safe with us now you will ride
She lifted the child up onto Polar Bears back, silently she walked by his side.
Who could hurt the little child
Left alone and deserted in the wild.
Frozen body frozen mind
This evil witch , was she this unkind
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 8
The little child wwas frightened the little child was cold He only trusted Polar Bear , he clung to him with a hold
So strong that no one, no even Mae could break
So tired he slept on Polar’s neck, he could not stay awake.
The Winter Queen was curious she felt she knew the child
But he would not let her near him, he screamed and just went wild.
Mae was most concerned she she could not understand why
The child trusted none of them,why it would only cry.
But they could not stay there for too long
They had a quest to fulfil they had to travel on.
There was nothing but desolation nothing growing for miles around,
No animals no flowers or crops and not even a single sound!!
Mae was so sad at the desolation that she saw
This was not her father’s land , well not as it was before.
Silently and slowly the snow began to fall
It covered the dead landscape and in white it shrouded our travellers all.
At length the child ceased crying and fell asleep
The Winter Queen up to the child crept to have a peep.
I Know this child Mae I am sure he is your half brother
Your father sired him when he and the evil witch were lovers.
Polar Bear at once unsure if his burden should be shed
But Mae stroked his neck and said no my love we cannot leave him for dead.
Polar Bear look hard and long into Mae beautiful and kind eyes
He let the child snuggle further in and said I trust you Mae for you are wise.
AND SO THEY JOURNEYED ONWARDS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 9
So for now lets let Mae sleep.
All her dreams and hopes inside to keep.
Sleeping also in the land of dreams her little brother bound to Mae it seems.
Polar Bear is So Good and kind thoughts of Mae fill his head .
The child has invaded Polar Bear’s mind , He now loves the child and forever he will treat him kind!
AND SO WE LEAVE THEM ALL TO SLEEP WE PRAY THE LORD THEIR SOULS TO KEEP.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 10
The child too was sleeping , dreaming of happier days
Remembering his mother, the witch, and the happy games they’d play.
His father looking on with love sparkling in his eyes
He felt safe and happy in his mothers arms protected by his father, wise.
Sad feeling started creeping in , fear washing over his skin
His mother and father were rowing from his cot he could hear the din.
She screamed I did I banished your daughters I killed your wife
I wanted your love and now I want your life.
His father’s voice rose to a scream you killed my wife the mother of my girls
Yes she replied I wanted you and your power ,as her head turned her hair unfurled
There followed a mighty fight the like of which the palace had never seen
At once all stood still as the king died all went grey, all colour devoid no blue no green .
The palace gone the land devastated all gone . The Witch of the East fled
The child was left to wander the no mans land . His mother gone and left him for dead.
The child awakes with a start to find he feels safe and cosy nestling in Polar Bear’s fur.
Looking across he see Mae sleeping in the snow , he realizes she is his sister and reaches out to her
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 11
The child suddenly felt the warmth of love , it covered him like the snow falling from above.
He watched Mae his sister sleep , he felt safe enough to with Mae and Polar bear keep.
He heard the Winter Queen’s bears gently growling . He felt love sing to him through the winters howling.
Comfy nestled in Polar’s fur he felt safe and without a care
Gently of a sudden Mae awoke she smiled and to the lost child spoke.
What is it little one ,you must know what has gone on.
Did the Witch , you mother tell you what she had done.
Did she own to the killings before she up and fled and was gone.
You have lost your father too, do not fear I shall take care of you.
Come and cuddle me and I shall sing you a lullaby
Let us be happy together no need for fear no need to cry.
And so as all the others slept Mae sang to her little brother
The two now bound in great sorrow now vowed to help each other.
Until the morning we leave them to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 12
And so the dawn creeps up relieving the night of her dark shroud .
The sky looked as barren and empty as the land not a fleck of cloud!
From out of nowhere came two visitors so beautiful were they.
Horses stallion and mare . They had come to greet and from here to carry the child and Mae.
Polar Bear was pleased to meet them, the Winter Queen knew them of old.
Mae and the child both mounted the mare Mae cuddled her brother against the cold.
The Winter Queen took to the Stallion who she rode with pride
Her Polar Bears unjealous trotted at her side !
So they travelled across the frozen wasteland
That was once her home the child with eyes wide held tight to her hand.
Polar Bear walked silent behind relieved to be on the move again
He only had one wish to return to his human frame
Poor Polar Bear was once a man
He was charged by his dying king to protect his daughter the best he can.
The Evil witch of the East turned him into a Polar Bear
He very soon fell in love with Mae for her he really cared.
He spent two years protecting Mae before he realized his love was all for her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 13
And so they set off towards the dawn, the bears the princess, the winter Queen and the boy.
Forward into their kingdom lost. The winter scenes and the bleakness brought them no joy!
Where once was were fields and villages was now only desolation
The child clinging to her, Mae could not believe her eyes , the sight was beyond contemplation.
Where were all the people, where were had the villages and the towns, all gone the life of old.
The witch of the East had had turned a beautiful land into an icescape, dull and cold.
An evil spell she had woven, because she had not been given what she had demanded
She wanted the sole devotion of Mae’s father , he was was not happy to do as she commanded .
Polar Bear could not believe his eyes , so he walked looking down at the ground.
The beautiful white horses tried to comfort him but so sad was he no solace was to be found.
Mae though heart broken sort to comfort him too, she realized then she loved him with a love so clear and true.
Gently setting the child down on the horses back , she dismounted and whispered in the mare’s ear. “I entrust the child to you.
could not stand to see such pain , so she walked and talked with Polar Bear hoping to ease his strain.
The Winter Queen was pleased to see this blossoming of love she knew nothing melted ice so fast as love’s sweet refrain.
The wind was icy the snow was hard but our party ventured on , not sure where they were going nor yet what they would find.
Surely as breath follows breath Mae and Polar Bear grew closer , their love began to grow . Both were beautiful and both were of a kind.
SO AGAIN WE MUST LEAVE OUR TRAVELLERS TO TRAVEL ON
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 14
Onwards through the cold, through the forgotten lands travelled our gallant crew
Unsuspecting they were being spied on. By the Wicked Witch of the East and her sisters two.
Her lover, in wolf from padded to her heels. Willing our innocents to a nasty death.
Evil was in the air all around them, tangible, and vile was the scent of their breath.
Ever cunning she sent her owls to watch their progress, one carrying an invitation for the company to join her.
She promised she meant no harm and all she wanted was to have her beautiful son back in her care.
No mention of her sisters, no mention of her wolverine lover .
Do not trust her Mae she is tricking you , she is no loving mother.
Polar Bear was first to sense the trouble , he saw the birds advancing from east.
One dropped the invitation at the Winter Queen’s feet. They were all summoned to a royal feast.
The Queen and Polar Bear agreed this was a trap they were in danger and so they took heed.
They must find some allies to fight this Evil, to save the kingdom which was dying , and fast indeed.
Sending out her fastest bear the Winter Queen called upon her armies, and her friends armies to meet her here!
It grew so dark they were unsure if it were day or night.With only snow , not a landmark left.
They did not know which way was right. At length they had to stop as they were hemmed in by a snow drift.
The witch sends out spell after spell to unsettle the friends and confuse
Coloured lights adorn the sky the glint from the snow make the path hard to choose.
Yet something keeps them moving on, something is on their side.
Mae and the child feel the essence, could it be the spirit of their father who’d died.
WE MUST LEAVE OUR TRAVELLERS FOR NOW.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER15
Please protect my brother please Polar Bear
I feel evil all around us from I don’t know where.
The Winter Queen and I, must our enemy meet
Without full knowledge of her plans we can not her defeat.
Unhappy to stay behind leaving Little Mae without his protection
Felt wrong to him , like putting an offering out for the East Witch’s collection.
Yet so adamant was Mae the child was to be in his care
He agreed to do as he was bid , to upset Mae he did not dare.
The Winter Queen was ready , so beautiful, so very brave
She knew the Witch of the East, she knew exactly how badly she could behave.
Polar Bear so uneasy at Mae’s plans to visit the witch, feared for her life.
He warned the Winter Queen if she returned without Mae he would cause her strife.
Mae, upset but touched by Polar Bear’s threats to the Queen
Took his paw and promised she would return as would the Queen.
The Child must be kept safe at whatever the cost
Mae somehow knew that without this child all would be lost!
So the child was left in safety with Polar Bear
Mae knew no one else could afford more care .
So out into the night, Out into the dark and the snow.
To face what dangers the like of which we do not know.
SO WE LEAVE THE CHILD TO SLEEP SAFE
CHAPTER16
Time seemed suspended as the small party moved on
With their eyes searching but not seeing , all landmarks gone.
The Queen though brave felt dread in her heart
Not knowing if help would come in time , she had been uneasy from the start.
Mae rode Vlad, the Winter Queen’d most beloved Bear
He was strong , clever and fearless and of Mae he would take care.
The cold was biting and the wind froze their breath
Though all was covered with snow , nothing could hide the smell of death.
The landscape barren, a forgotten frozen waste
Let us hope that reinforcements come, and come with all haste.
As the travellers reach the end of the the valley that they have been passing through
Mountains loom above them,there is no way round them, so to cross them is what, they will have to do.
Mae was struck by horror this seemed an impossible task
But the Winter Queen assured her they could do this, but her fears were hardly masked!
Darkness was closing in they could see it advancing like a curtain of black
They stood there knowing the only way was forward , for there was no turning back.
Just when they felt that all was lost , a figure came towards them,as in a fairy tale!
It was the Winter’s brother who had been keeping watch for them in this ungodly gale.
Quickly he shepherded them back to his battle camp.
With food and warmth they thawed, relieved that for now they had ceased their tramp.
Ewen was a noble man who loved his sister dear
As soon as he received his sister’s call for help , his destiny was clear.
He had and army of a thousand men, all of them good and true
But he knew he would need more as out of the Witch’s lair thousands would spew.
Mae slept exhausted exactly where she had dropped
Ewen and his sister talked while keeping watch.Then with the dawn the snow stopped
The night passed quickly and Mae was with her brother in her dreams
She suddenly saw Polar Bear turn into the Witch of the East! Mae woke the whole camp with her terrified screams.
THE ROAD AHEAD FOR OUR TRAVELERS WILL NOT BE EASY.
CHAPTER17
Deep within her castle . The evil witch of the East reached out her soul.
Over fields of snow and mountains high she soared though not whole.
She traveled straight to her enemies camp and into Polar bears mind!
At once Polar Bear awoke not as himself but as the wicked Witch.
Before anyone could move she grabbed the child and was gone, her plan perfect, carried out without a glitch.
Poor Polar Bear fell to the ground his body was still as still
For with the child the Witch had taken , also, Polar Bear’s free will.
He lay there in a coma , this is what our precious Mae had seen.
This horror was the reason that her screams had awoken her from her dream.
Mae was inconsolable her fears were running riot
But however much she dreaded the worst, her terrors she had to quiet.
Ewen stood before her he had listened to what she had seen
There is no hope of turning back now, whispered the Winter Queen.
So with heavy heart and sickening fear Mae mounted, Vlad, her ride
Ewen and his Sister too astride their snow white bears moved swiftly to her side.
They sent out the Ravens but sadly they new Mae’s dream was true.
Win or loose they had to fight the East Witch there was nothing else that they could do.
Fly away faithful birds find for us the news
Of the fate of Polar Bear and Mae’s half brother too.
The party made their way up into the mountains
Step by step they, not easy they made small gains.
The mountains were treacherous and they met many dangers on their way
Many tales of that journey I could tell but time is short so it must wait for another day.
On they went through the fiercest storm the world had ever seen.
Some of Ewen’s brave men were lost, their lives given for Mae , the child and the Winter Queen.
SADLY THE DANGERS OF THE MOUNTAINS ARE NAUGHT TO WHAT LIES AHEAD.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 18
The way was treacherous, the weather evil and cruel
The storm was hindering them, impeding their way and they were short on fuel.
Mae was tortured by visions of her brother in the Witch of the East’s hold
Also those of her beloved Polar Bear prone inert upon the snow laid cold.
Battling on as best they can they faced horror hither to unknown to man.
Fiery two headed dragons breathing ice and fire.Wolves so huge their legs each side of the road would span.
Yet they battled on ,the witch of the East was watching their every move
Every slip and fall they suffered she was watching , it was working wonders on her mood!
Spitefully she smiled as they suffered cold and hunger pangs
She found solace in their agony , she thrived on their pain
It truly excited her to see them struggling and suffering strain.
Taking pleasure in their toils she encourage the child to join her in this game.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 19
The child’s affections were taken by the Witch of the East
She was feeding his ego and dark side, encouraging his beast.
What ever he wanted his tiniest whim
She indulged and pampered making sure she spoiled him.
This was her baby, we know this is true
But to take spite on Mae was, above all things, what she wanted to do.
Already he was demanding and pouting if denied
The witch fed his tempers and cuddled him when he cried .
He was no longer asking for his beloved sister Mae
The witch had made certain all thoughts of his life before were blown way.
All of his days in her palace spent having his own way
His mother by birth she may be, yet it is evil that drives her as she keeps the child in sway.
Meanwhile the Winter Queen has found water and feed for the horses
Ewen and his men are still as strong in their support of Mae, yet so uncertain of what their course is.
Three weeks now they have been struggling through the blinding snow
This is Mae’s homeland but she is lost , there is not a landmark or a person , this land she does not know.
Mae feels the pain in her heart for her stolen brother ,
Polar Bear suffers the pain of an unrequited lover .
Ewen and his men feel the cold , lost in this wasteland their hope begins to die and wither.
Mae begins to wonder if they will ever reach their goal, why did she accept the Witch of the East’s summons hither.
CHAPTER 20
The way had been arduous with treacherous mountains passes
The travelers and Ewen’s army had been brave and strong in their advances.
Then came the cold grey dawn of the first day of the fourth week
Mae’s castle home stood before them, they had reached the goal they seek.
Everyone was frozen by the sight of the once beautiful castle and city
Gone was it’s glow , it look base and dark , Mae shed a tear of pity.
Mae thought to herself, what has happened to my home
Oh! she thought, my poor sweet brother is in there on his own.
CHAPTER 21
As rooted to the spot they stood
Man, Fairy all akin bound in brotherhood!
The sight before them enough to freeze the soul
Was this what they had come to claim was this truly the goal?
Of a sudden a roar of hundreds horns
Broke the dark night’s silence like the breaking of a thousand dawns.
A shaft of light hit the castle walls and out from every orifice demons and devils crawled.
They came even though they shielded their eyes for they did not like the light .
A moment of shock, then Ewen recovered his voice
Line up my men and elves line up we fight we have no choice!
Mae shivered at the thought that Polar Bear lay close to death
And her kin was that Castle yonder within, out of touch yet in a hair’s breadth !
Inside the castle behind thick walls the evil witch of the East sat in an empty hall
Though the arrow slits she saw Ewen’s army she willed Ewens’ men to fall.
And the men loyal to the Winter Queen she cursed, her spite made her ugly.
She crossed the room and wove a spell over the sleeping boy so he’d never be free.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT TO OUR HEREOS WHAT LIES IN STORE FOR THEM
WISH THEM WELL MY FRIENDS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 22
Out the demons came, evil incarnate
Our Heroes held their line hoping death was not their fate.
Stand your ground cried Ewen wait until you smell their breath
Do your best to sever their heads men it is the only way they will meet their death.
The winter Queen had her polar bears at the ready
She cautioned Mae to cling to Vlad and to fire her arrows steady!
Mae cried I am ready now to fight for my father’s honest name.
I swear I shall right all the wrong and restore this land again!
The winter Queen threw off her cloak and and waved her sword on high.
Mae clung on to Vlad and followed her into battle screaming “Victory for my kind or I die.
The Battle raged day and night the demons never tired.
No sooner were the demons chopped down more of them were sired!
Sword on shield, arrow on shield Blood and skin on the battle field.
Then Just as they thought nothing could get worse
The Evil witch of the East sent her evil dragons out like a curse!
On and on they came one after the other getting larger and and more fierce.
They waded into the Humans and the fairies killing them their screams the dawn did pierce.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 23
As the battle raged , uneven as it was Polar Bear slept in the East witch’s spell
He could not wake from Morpheus’s hold, he had to watch as his loved ones go through hell .
From his eyes, tight shut, escaped tears of pain, he reached out to slay the dragons, in vain
Like a puppy caught in a dream his limbs twitched and flickered,he howled in his head again and again.
A passing angel heard his moans and took pity on him.
She saw how exposed he was, and realized the danger he was in.
On his back she lay to keep him warm, to try and ease his grief
Such pain she felt reading his thoughts knowing that she could afford him no relief.
Meanwhile Mae and the others held their own against the demons and the dragons might
Many fell but they held the line and prayed for help to arrive, from the entreaties they had sent to allies to join their fight.
So from yellow dawn they fought till darkest night such horrors they faced. There was nothing more that they could do.
So they prayed for help and in the meanwhile made sure their swords and arrows sped straight and true!
ONCE AGAIN WE LEAVE OUR HEROES IN THE LAP OF THE GODS,
AND POLAR BEAR IN THE ARMS OF AN ANGEL.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 24
The battle raged for days then came the ending of the seventh day
All was but lost, such awful wounds suffered on both sides
There was nothing left to do the Winter Witch took to her knees to pray
Mae Bade, Ewen farewell and left the battle field and headed to where the Witch of the East hides.
Ewen and his men also fell to their knees and prayed to which ever God or Gods they followed
They watched as the dragons and the demons divided as Mae past
Mae walked up to her old home, so sullied. She disappeared into the gates as if she had been swallowed.
Both sides halted fighting as at one command.
Ewen when to help the Winter Queen rise but she remained fast.
Into the dark, cold corridors went Mae , where once was joy and laughter
All warmth and colour gone no sign of her former happy life.
Nothing left of her family , not one sign, just snow and icicles hanging from all the rafters.
No sign of her sister or her father gone, destroyed was every sign of her former life.
With heavy heart and fear pressing on her chest
Mae Entered the throne room to find the Wicked East Witch seated on her throne
Mae took in a sharp breath, it was so cold . Yet more than that sadness washed over her and down on her soul pressed.
Entering the once warm and inviting great hall she came eye to eye with the woman for whom her hatred had grown.
Sleeping Polar Bear
Still in the angels care
For under the East Witches spell
I fear it will not end well…………………..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 25
“At last you have decided to show some sense”
Hissed the witch of the East
“What have you to say in your defense ?”
Mae could not believe her ears such words from this female beast!
“Why do I need to defend myself to you”
Mae asked her temper, for the first time rising.
“I am not in the wrong here, no, that is you!”
Her hand around her sword hilt tightening, she look amazing , even frightening.
The Witch stood and seemed to grow filling all the room
Standing her ground Mae faced her arch enemy.
Sweat ran down Mae’s back she feared that she might swoon
A shaft of silver moonlight shone through the window so Mae could see.
Why have you turned this beautiful kingdom into a dark night
You killed my father and you have banished my sister , why
What have we ever done to you , why use us to vent your spite.
You have my half brother here, I know he is here I heard him cry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 26
“Yes I have the child “replied the Witch of the East
“He is mine and on his innocence I feast!”
“Then why did I find him lost and alone in the snow?”
asked Mae.
The Witch told Mae ” I sent him out to snare you didn’t you know.
I needed him to gain your trust and love so I could reel you in. It worked well my dear.
For your army is within my domain and you Mae, you are here!”
Mae’s temper flared this evil woman was laughing at her.
Eyes flashing Mae raised her sword to the, now giant witch , “No, No” screamed Mae!!
“You evil bitch”, you shall not win this day.
Mae advanced her eyes were wild and flashing ,
Whirling her sword at the witch she advanced and down upon her brought it crashing!
A high pitch squeal was heard, it was the boys scream, followed by the East witch laughing.
She had tricked Mae who now was shocked to see the boy child cut in two
His life’s blood oozing out, dead, dead the child was dead what was poor Mae to do?
Just in time Mae turned to see hordes of demons, eyes a blaze slavering for her, fast advancing
Mae saw no other way but to turn and run . Out through the doors her eyes with fear dancing.
As she reached the courtyard Ewen saw her plight
He called upon his men to help her, he shouted “save Mae, men fight!!”
Still Polar bear is trapped under the East Witch’s spell
Trapped in a nightmare having to watch Mae’s agony, in his own hell.
An angel is with him trying to easy his pain
But she feel his anguish making him cry out again and again………………
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 27
Loud the noise of battle , bloody and debauched. The bodies of the dead stacked high
The smell of rotting flesh assaults the throat, and burns the eye . The stinking smell raises to the sky.
The wounded lay in filthy piles, demons and maggots gnawing on their wounds
Their screams of fear and pain add to the impending doom.
The Witch of the East watched through the rain
Enjoying the smell and screams of agonizing pain.
She was aroused by the smell of fear and hate
Summoning one of her minions her desire to sate.
The Battle raged below while she in carnal acts
Took such pleasure from a hound of hell, with his master she had a pact.
The noise they made could be hear below in the battle
Men shuddered at the sound, the demons were aroused and stampeded like cattle.
Mae and Ewen held the line
Fight on fight on he pleaded all will be fine .
How can that awful screaming scare us so?
It is a sound no human should ever have to know.
Mae was chilled to the bone, her soul felt almost frozen.
Her thoughts went to her beloved Polar Bear.
Where was he, she needed him. He had sworn he always would be there for her.
Tired so tired Mae could hardly raise her sword.
At first she did not feel the pain
Then it awoke in her as she was struck again and again.
Brave Mae took the savage beating .
Then in went the blade as she fell her thoughts still fleeting .
Up in the castle the demon and Witch both both reached a climax
He exhausted, she her skin all torn blood flowing in tracks.
Heaving and sweating with lust
She threw him off though he was in mid thrust.
The Witch felt Mae’s wounds and her pain.
Though in agony she smiled seeing now her end game.
Dragging herself over the demon’s
quivering body,
The Witch crawled towards the window leaving a trail all bloody.
With an evil glint in her eye she saw Mae’s plight
She watch as Ewen sped to her aid moving at full flight.
Her heart beat faster as Ewen took Mae’s bleeding body into his arms
Smiling she crawled back to her demon lover to drink of him , she had no qualms.
Ewen bore Mae away to rest to heal to sleep
It hurt him so to see her wounds. Out loud he did weep.
Mae found Polar Bear in her dream, helped by an angel with raven hair.
He stretched out and touched Mae , she felt safe now he was here with her.
