The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 29, 2022. Element.

Hi it’s Saturday and time for LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week Linda has told us. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “element.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!”

Today we are out, helping our eldest son choose a new car. His old one was written off in an accident that was not his fault. So while Ruby and I wait in the comfort of the showroom they are out test driving the car. The place is decorated for Halloween so I have decided to write a Nonet about Elementals and to row in Halloween too.

Elemental.

Earth, wind, fire and air
Lo, these are the stuff of life
Each has a mythical spirit fair.
Man tries to rule them, that brings strife.
Every part of life is ruled by them
Now at this time of Halloween
The elementals conspire to mayhem
All Souls and Spirit unite with Mab their Queen.
Lock the windows and doors against the elementals.

I have just realised a huge error the above is an Acrostic poem not a Nonet at all 💜

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 23/2020

Its Saturday and time for LindaGHill’s #SoCs, this week Linda gave us this prompt. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ch.” Find a word that starts with “ch” and use it as your prompt word. Bonus points if you start your post with that word. Enjoy!

I have chosen to write an Acrostic Nonet entitled Changeling. Mind you there are ten letters in changeling and as I wanted to write a Nonet and not an Etheree I repeated the five syllable line twice…Poetic licence.

Charlotte and Charles so desired a child

Heaven and Earth they would of moved

All types of potions were tried

Never did they conceed

Glady they tried spells

Each one much stronger

Long lost magic

It worked by

Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Clear and Nature.#No.138.

Hello everyone it’s Tuesday and time for Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka.

Here are our two words for this week: and we must only use synonyms.

Clear & Nature

I have decided to do a Nonet using the synonyms, crystal, transparent and open for Clear, and Gia, essence and mother earth for Nature

Waterfall.

Crystal water falls sparkling so bright

It’s one of Gia’s true wonders

Transparent fractals of light

In essence and colours

A celebration

Of mother earth’s

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 29/19

LindaGHill said “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “for/fore/four.” Use one, use ’em all, use ’em any way you want. Enjoy!”

My middle son plays a lot of golf and he plays very well to, if I say so myself. So I went with a golfing theme.

Today’s #SoCs is a little Golfing Nonet. Image from Pixabay

Before you take that first shot shout fore

Don’t blindly let your golf ball soar

When using a five or four

Don’t make someone’s head sore

So for goodness sake

Give everyone

A safe break

Shout out

Colleen’s 2019 WeeklyTanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 131 SynonymsOnly

Look who’s back!

Yes at last our Fairy Queen of the synonyms is back. Safely ensconced in Arizona Colleen is ready to set us our Weekly Tuesday Tanka Challenge you can join in here.. It doesn’t have to be a Tanka though as long as it is a poem governed by syllables.

Today’s words to use synonymously are Beginning & Consume.

I have chosen to do a Nonet, one of my favourite forms of poetry.

In the beginning.

When it all started there were just two

All sparkly, wonderful and new.

They had eyes for eachother

Such joys to discover

Snake then wriggled in

Try this apple

It’s good, she

Ate, too

Late.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 126, “Poet’s Choice of Words”

It’s the first Tuesday of the month and that means we can choose our own words and there is no need to use synonyms .

I have chosen to do a Nonet today in honour of the coming spring. My two words are Spring and Hope.

Rules here

Hope springs eternal this time of year.

Winter lingers but have no fear

New life awaits to burst forth

Chill winds hover from north

Tiny buds grow

White, blue, golden

Emboldened

Spring is

Hope.

Just Jot it January Day Four. Enigmatic.

Our prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 4th is brought to you by Virgobeauty! Click here to find her last post and say hi while you’re there! Virgobeauty’s word for our prompt today is “enigmatic.” Use it anywhere in your post or make it the theme of your post. Have fun!

I have tried an Acrostic Nonet today. I will try to explain the word within the poem. This fun, you know.😉

Enigmatic

Easy to understand it was not

No it was mysterious , strange

In truth it was fathomless

Great men tried to solve it

Most were just confused

All realised

The answer

Is the

Clue.

Scary October 3

Here we are at the unholy month of October. I thought I would do a paranormal, witchy, unholy bunch of poems, some new and some old.

Don’t forget to check out Jane Dougherty and Kat Myrman‘s plans for this month!

Today’s poem is a Nonet.

Autumn mists wraps round early mornings

Days grow short as the year slips by

Breezes make leaves want to fly

Bonfire smoke sends warnings

Halloween is near

Dark spirits bring fear

The scary

Thursday photo prompt: Circle #writephoto

This is my entry for Sue Vincent’s, of The Daily Echo, #writephoto Circle.

Circle of Stone

Just another monochrome day break.

We took the path from the big lake.

Cold and silent no bird calls

In fear I stumble, fall

Hands lift me up high

Cold stone alter

Where I lie

Now I

Die.

Thursday photo prompt: Summit #writephoto

This is my entry for Sue Vincent of Daily Echo‘s #writephoto.

Rules and Pingback Here

The Summit. A Nonet.

Heart fit to bust as I near the top

Lungs heave in and out fit to bust

The sky’s grey and forbidding

But life is for living

I reach the summit

And see the view

All is revealed

I step

Through.
