The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 29/2020

Badge by Shelley

Today is Saturday and it is time for LindaGHill’s Saturday Stream of Consciousness .Our prompt for this week is: “Ect.” Find a word with the letters “ect” in it, and base your post on that word. (Not to be confused with “et cetera,” which is “etc.”) Enjoy!

I have chosen to write an Acrostic Poem about the Borg.

Collective

Combining minds as one being

Oneness, their signature

Linked by a signal thought

Loneliness not in their vocabulary

Each was different, now united

Communication continuous

Time alone not an opion

Innovative immiterial, obsolete.

Voices meld as one no need to complete.

Each, is no option, Borg is singular.

The Escapist Coloring Club – February 2020 mid-month reminder

Well here we are and it is the last day of February. Time to show and tell our efforts for February 2020.

Here is the blank page ( so to speak).

Here we are halfway through the month.

Above is my finished effort and I am rather proud of it. Leaves, curls and squiggles. I used less colours than usual, my thinking is that less is more.

Come and Join us it’s so much fun 💜

It’s been a long day.

It’s been a long day, a three hundred and seventy odd miles round trip. Left home at 9am and 8.15pm return.

We lost a very dear friend in this last fortnight. Today was his funeral and we had to travel to Devon to attend. It was a long day, a sad day and also a celebration of our dear friends life. His coffin entered to Tina Turners Simply the best, we were invited to sing Westlife’s You lift me up and There is a green hill far away (Hymn) and after two very poignant eluegies he left us to Always look on the bright side of life. Which sums him up perfectly.

So that’s why I have not posted or hardly commented today it’s not that I am ignoring you guys I have just been otherwise involved. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow. Love to you all. I am so tired I am off to bed. Normal service resumes tomorrow.💜

Three Things Challenge #157

Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.

Every day Di of pensitivity101 will give us three words or things that will hopefully trigger our creativity.
No need to use them all if you don’t want to, simply read the prompt and see what comes to mind. Today’s words are Operation, Jab, Discomfort.

“Okay,” she said, “today’s operation is top secret, we cannot be spotted or we will be in deep doodoo! Has everyone studied the plan properly there is no room for error.”

There was total silence in the room and a palpable feeling of discomfort no one spoke or moved.

“Right”she shouted with a jab of her fist, “Let’s get going.”

This is part of Di’s Three Things Challenge.

The Plague

The planet was struggling it’s true

From space it was no longer blue

It was suffering from millennia of wars and abuse

People pleaded for change, no use.

Most people tried to help Earth

They knew the planets worth.

Then came the plague

No respecter of king or knave

It cut through the ranks and top brass

No preference for age or class

It sent weak, old or young to the grave.

It emptied the streets and Malls,

Pubs, clubs and church halls.

It stopped the planes and the trains

The fat cats lost their profits and gains.

Huge nations brought to their knees

As scientists search for the keys

To the elusive cure to rid all of the bain.

Just when it could not get worse

Hate joined fear with a curse.

The people turn on eachother

Neighbour, husband, wife, sister, brother.

Empty shops, no fuel they could not stand

Then all civilian movement was banned

The crops and animals died on the land.

Drones flew over head, all was scanned.

Mother Nature watched with a tear

Chaos in weeks, rebellion, extinction within a year.
