Wet beneath my feet
Fresh morning smell, sweet.
Light between the green leaves
Early warmth, my skin gratefully receives.
Light on the water sparkling
Blinding my eyes, thoughts darkling.
Early bird in to the blue yonder soars
Reaching the bridge my agony roars!
Pain pounding in my head
Negating all good things said.
Heart bursting ,feet bleeding brain screaming
Reaching the edge of the bridge blinded by tears streaming.
Running now I need the release
Stepping off the side craving peace.
No more pain, no more hurt no more grief.
Falling now, floating now I welcome this feeling of relief.
The water is ice cold
I flail a little but find nought to hold.
Silence, silence soft as silk and so pure.
Peace at last I can endure no more.

Mar 26, 2014 @ 00:02:24
So sad, when one feels no other option exists. Life always turns around.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 15:03:16
Maybe, maybe not.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 15:39:43
It is the one simple precept that has always been true for me. I have lived through some dark days, and my imagination has kept me going. Hugs, Willow.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 16:16:38
Hugs back to you too. Xxx

From this we escape
Escape to what, I wonder
As PennyG said – haunting.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 14:59:38
I think it is better that we do not know the answer to that one.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 02:36:28
Sound desperate for an ending. I found this chilling.
Mar 26, 2014 @ 14:55:18
I was not sure until the penultimate line of the poem if she would live or die. She needed peace , she had to die . xxx

Have you ever had swim lessons? Water therapy is easier on backs and joints due to the helpful buoyancy. Especially in saline pools. You can wear one of the new sun-blocking swim-tees to be comfortable. Might even be fun. 🙂
Mar 27, 2014 @ 18:50:21
I have had aqua therapy after breaking my back the first time 14yrs ago. I am not keen on swimming. I am not a good swimmer. I nearly drowned age 5yrs
I fell into the river Isis I remember as clear as day the fear the cold the wet! Then the wonderful feeling of my father’s strong arms lifting me out of the water . swimming therapy? Not for Mr Bear. xxxxx
Mar 27, 2014 @ 19:48:40
Ooo not in a cold dark river! In a heated pool with plenty of strong competent instructors everywhere. Maybe just ordinary swim lessons instead of therapy, so that it is fun. In the newer saline pools the water feels almost soft. I got to swim in one once, about 10 years (good grief time flies!!!!) ago. They don’t need chlorine to keep the bacteria down so they don’t burn your eyes, the mild salt solution is similar to tears. Like Alice. ….. Something for just you…. just a thought. XXXXX
Mar 27, 2014 @ 21:28:36
A good thought , thank you a good thought!
