Hello again do you remember my recent post on my brush with Nature. The nasty incident when a Sparrow Hawk attacked a poor unsuspecting pigeon in our garden. Well it was a horrendous scene straight out of a horror movie , blood gore and feathers everywhere!
To cut a long story short the pigeon was saved and eventually whisked off to a Bird Sanctuary by my almost Buddhist, animal loving husband . Yesterday he rang up to see how our brave pigeon was getting on. Now I say brave because lets face it, attacked by the Sparrow Hawk, rescued and left in a dark box for a couple of hours, taken for a car ride, treated by sanctuary staff, visit to the vets . Let us face it he deserves to live!
Happily the prognosis is good , he has been to the vets and has a very nasty neck wound. All the blood that I had seen covering the left side of his face was from the neck wound and his little face was unscathed ! He is , not surprisingly feeling very sorry for himself but things are looking good for him. So it is fingers and wings crossed! I am still rooting for the boy!
