Skies are crying why do they weep Are they tired or just sad. Do they know it is time to build an ark Fear is here watch it creep Covering the planet slowly. So bad.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our hosts spend a lot of time creating these challenges. Follow the directions carefully. Please create your poetry using the prompt suggested by the host. Remember, this is a challenge for you to create a syllabic poem using the prompt instructions. If the prompt doesn’t inspire you, that’s okay. Please don’t submit a poem that doesn’t meet the criteria of the prompt. Thanks for your consideration. ~Colleen~
Hi Guys and Gals I have been away but I am hopefully back! Sorry to say I have probably missed a great deal of wonderful posts and lots of great music! … Unfortunately I updated wordpress/ Jetpack when prompted to… Stupid me! I am now having lots of problems visiting some sights but as ever I am finding work rounds! That means not only am I playing catch up it is taking me a lot longer to do so! (Thank you wordpress/jetpack you love making life difficult!)
Anyway that said here we go with Jim’s prompt for Song Lyric Sunday this week! Subvocalization! Jim Adams our host describes this in depth pop over to his site and have a read up. Personally I refer to this as earwormitus! I have an acute case of this and suffer if that is the right word with it continuously! I love music and Lyrics are my life!
I remember when our middle son was at Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. This was back in the days when our middle lad was set on a career in music… Before he and his wife had settled down and his elderly brother gave him the talk about ” it’s all very well producing music but if you have a wife and kids you need stable too! ” and he moved into IT.I think that’s what big brothers are for… giving shoves in the right direction!
As I was saying while he was at the ACM he learnt about layering and repetitive sounds… Kylie Ann Minogue’s , Can’t get you out of my head, was used as the perfect example of a pop song.. it is a classic earworm it has everything you need in it for it to be unforgettable. Now I know Jim our host is doing that one so I shall say no more.
Here is one of the best examples of layering set out for you to see. I have used it often but to me it’s perfect. First video with the Mi. Mu gloves she has developed .
The second video is the original 20 year of version before she invented the gloves!
I defy you not to find that a catchy earworm!
“Just For Now”
Just for now Just for now Just for now Just for now Just for now Just for now
It’s that time of year Leave all our hopelessness’s aside If just for a little while tears stop right here I know we’ve all had a bumpy ride. I’m secretly on your side
How did you know? It’s what I always wanted Could never have had too many of these Well you, quit kicking me under the table I’m trying; will somebody make her shut up about it? Can we settle down please?
It’s that time of year Leave all our hopelessness’s aside If just for a little while tears stop right here I know we’ve all had a bumpy ride. I’m secretly on your side
Bite tongue Deep breaths Count to ten Nod your head
I think something is burning Now you’ve ruined the whole thing Muffle the smoke alarm Whoever put on this music? Better quick sharp remove it Pour me another Oh, don’t wag your finger at me
It’s that time of year Leave all our hopelessness’s aside If just for a little while tears stop right here I know we’ve all had a bumpy ride. I’m secretly on your side
Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here
Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here
Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here Get me outta here Just for love Just for love.
Lyric by Imogen Heap.

Any let’s pick another earworm as my main presentation I could pick any Sam Ryder song but that would be too predictable. So here is one of the famous alumni from The ACM Guilford.

Look what we found, Karma reached out Into our hearts and pulled us to our feet now You know, the truth is we could disappear Anywhere, as long as I got you there When the sun dies, till the day shines When I’m with you, there’s not enough time You are my spring flower, watchin’ you bloom, wow We are surrounded, but I can only see
The lights, your face, your eyes Exploding like fireworks in the sky
Sapphire Touchin’ on your body while you’re pushin’ on me Don’t you end the party, I could do this all week We’ll be dancin’ till the morning, go to bed, we won’t sleep Cham cham chamke sitare vargi Sapphire Touchin’ on your body while you’re pushin’ on me Don’t you end the party, I could do this all week We’ll be dancin’ till the morning, go to bed, we won’t sleep Cham cham chamke sitare vargi Sapphire

Oh! Damn it I couldn’t resist!!
Show me what nobody else sees Twisted up inside of your sheets Desert wind and joshua trees Living just for moments like these
We could do this all night Running from the bright lights Don’t wanna jinx it, but tonight Think the future looks nice
Where I see us heading next Wagoneer way out west Olympic ’89 spec If I took a wild guess
Orion shining over head Whispering beneath our breath Slowly kissing my neck If I took a wild guess
If I took a wild guess Yeah
Show me what nobody else sees Twisted up inside of your sheets Jasmine air and joshua trees Living just for moments like thesе
Look at you, all bright-eyed It’s like wе see the whole sky Don’t wanna jinx it, but tonight Think the future looks nice
If I took a wild guess Of where we’re gonna go next It’s all just kinda timeless And, damn, I kinda like this
If I took a wild guess Of where we’re gonna go next It’s riding into sunsets If I took a wild guess
Where I see us heading next Wagoneer way out west Olympic ’89 spec If I took a wild guess
Ping went my phone … It was this week’s SoCs prompt from our very busy and efficient host Linda G Hill. Here’s what she said. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “love.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun, and happy Valentine’s Day!”
Jump she said , How high? Was his gentle reply. He would do anything for her Yet she scorned him and treated him like a cur. Presents he lavished on her daily She accepted them then dismissed him gayly She was always on her way out Never a thank you, her mouth a permanent pout. One day he could take no more So he pushed a note through her door. “I can’t go on trying to win your favour. I am wasting my time, it shows in your behaviour. He was gone and she was on her own She was shocked to the core, cut right to the bone. She really had not realized how much he’d done for her No she did not see she loved him til he was no longer there!
Using my own instructions for Tanka Tuesday “To this week, choose any form you’d like to create. Let’s use synonyms for the words “love & passion.” That means you must not use the words love or passion in your poem, only synonyms for those words. I have chosen an Abhanga in any number of 4-line stanzas with 6-6-6-4 syllables each. L2 and L3 rhyme. The end rhyme scheme is abbc. It is customary to title your poem
Love & Passion
Her brown eyes said it all Fervently doted on me Her life she’d lay down free We were her all.
Defend me to the end I am her guiding light Her presence makes life bright God spelled backwards.
This week Ronovanwrites gives us the prompt Politics. He says “You don’t have to use the word in your poem, you can just use it as inspiration.
The Amerian Cinquain style is named as such because of it’s creator, the American poet Adelaide Crapsey. Learn about Adelaide and her short but productive life here. Creative, brilliant, and tragedy.

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
