Will o' the Wisp

Halloween

It is dark as I walk past the ancient graveyard.  What’s that?  A ball of light floats inches off the ground, silver will of the whisp. My heart beats quicker, my footsteps are rushed.  Noises fill the air.  I turn and scream, for now I see them.

Recoil in fear
Ghosts and goblins tread this eve
The dead walk the earth
The world of spirit and life
Merge into one on this day

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge.  The key words today were “Fright” and “Night”, yet for this special while she is away, we are to only use synonyms.  My Tanka might not be exactly a Tanka, but close enough 😉

Colleen Chesebro’s Weekly Haiku,Tanka and Haibun Challenge 31/10/17. Night Fright.

Now the lovely Colleen Chesebro of The Fairy Whisperer is going to be very busy all of the month of November doing NanoWritMo.

Now, so we can all carry on with the Challenge she has set our prompts for the month.

Today the Prompt for Halloween is FRIGHT & NIGHT.

BUT HERE’S THE CATCH: For the entire month of November, you can’t use the prompt words! You MUST use a synonym!

So without more ado let’s get going.

I walk all alone

Demons snapping at my heels

Scared and with no home

Through the kingdom of the moon

Fear above me swoops and whields.

Twittering Tales.#56  31/10/17

This week being Halloween, today infact, Kat of Like Murcury Colliding has given us three devilishly good photo to choose from. The photos are so good I choose to use all three! A Halloween Trio in fact!

Song Lyric Sunday. Parties/ Partying.

This is my entry  for Song Lyric Sunday Challenge. This week Helen Vahdati  using the prompt from Simply Marquessa which is Girl, you better have your hair weave strapped on tight…” from the song, Chunky by Bruno

Helen chose to prompt us to find songs about parties and partying!

Song number one is “I got a feeling” by the Black Eyes Peas.  I feel it shows the darker side of the youth culture, all about the booze culture. The video is really raunchy but I love it and I love the song too.

“I Gotta Feelin'”

[4x]
I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

Tonight’s the night
Let’s live it up
I got my money
Let’s spend it up

Go out and smash it
Like Oh My God
Jump off that sofa
Let’s get get off

I know that we’ll have a ball
If we get down
And go out
And just lose it all

I feel stressed out
I wanna let it go
Lets go way out spaced out
And losing all control

Fill up my cup
Mazel Tov
Look at her dancing
Just take it off

Let’s paint the town
We’ll shut it down
Let’s burn the roof
And then we’ll do it again

Let’s do it, let’s do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it, and do it, and do it,
Let’s live it up
And do it, and do it, and do it, do it, do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it

‘Cause…

[2x]
I gotta feeling (ooooo hoooo) that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

Tonight’s the night (hey!)
Let’s live it up (let’s live it up)
I got my money (I’m paid)
Let’s spend it up (let’s spend it up)

Go out and smash it (smash it)
Like Oh My God (like Oh My God)
Jump off that sofa (c’mon)
Let’s get get off

Fill up my cup (drink)
Mazel Tov (l’chaim)
Look at her dancing (move it, move it)
Just take it off

Let’s paint the town (paint the town)
We’ll shut it down (shut it down)
Let’s burn the roof
And then we’ll do it again

Let’s do it, let’s do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it, and do it, and do it,
Let’s live it up
And do it, and do it, and do it, do it, do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it,
Let’s do it, do it, do it, do it

Here we come
Here we go
We gotta rock (rock, rock, rock, rock)

Easy come
Easy go
Now we on top (top, top, top, top)

Feel the shot
Body rock
Rock it don’t stop (stop, stop, stop, stop)

Round and round
Up and down
Around the clock (clock, clock, clock, clock)

Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday
Friday, Saturday
Saturday to Sunday

Get get get get get with us
You know what we say
Party every day
Pa pa pa party every day

And I’m feeling (ooooo hoooo)
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night

I gotta feeling (oooooo hoooo) that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night

Ooooooo hooooo

The second song is from Sia  another set of very dark lyrics. Sadness, pain, guilt and the need to escape… Then the shame and the come down!

“Chandelier”

Party girls don’t get hurt
Can’t feel anything, when will I learn
I push it down, push it down

I’m the one “for a good time call”
Phone’s blowin’ up, ringin’ my doorbell
I feel the love, feel the love

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink

Throw ’em back, till I lose count

I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I’m gonna live like tomorrow doesn’t exist
Like it doesn’t exist
I’m gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

But I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Help me, I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight

Sun is up, I’m a mess
Gotta get out now, gotta run from this
Here comes the shame, here comes the shame

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink

Throw ’em back till I lose count

On for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Oh, I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight
On for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Oh, I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight
