It had been six weeks since the invasion.Dan had been living on his wits traveling by night hiding by day. He had been on his own since day nine. He had seen the factory from the road and decided to camp there a while. It was about 2am when the beam struck. He could hide no more.

“Come on, we’re late! Cutting across the cemetery will save twenty minutes. I know it’s almost dark but I am more afraid of Mum than the dead.” James said jumping over the wall. “No” shouted Paul. James was home in 15 mins. Paul however was never seen again.

Countdown.

He’d noticed the numbers, they all had. It had been an annoyance at first. Days passed and it diminished. No one in the office mentioned it yet they all had spotted it. One by one the numbers on the screens reached 00. One by one the programmers disappeared. Where had they gone.

The Find.

“It looks great in the hall.”
“Where’d you find it?”
“The attic.”
“I’m not sure it looks a tad worn.”
“Nothing a good polish won’t fix.”
“Umm, really?”
“Look a rub here, a rub there and it will shine like new!”
“Let’s get some coffee.”
As Will and Ed walked off the knocking started.

Zeros and ones, they were her friends they guided her through life. She only saw in binary it was her norm. Beautiful colours blue, green and red were her comfort zones.
So it came as a real shock when suddenly she saw something emerging in black and white. Did she need a reboot?

Instructions.

Approach in clear line of view. No sudden or aggressive movements. Speak gently. A dragon always reacts better to calm, gentle handling. You must master this first meeting, you never get a second chance. Remember you are a dragon keeper, you need a dragon more than they need you.

Sweet Release.

She awoke was she alone? Three days she had been captive. He’d raped, beaten and left her in her own mess. He was here, his breath on her neck. Then a siren went off, “no” he cursed. “It’s too early”as the water rushed in through the holes. Thank God death, was preferably to him.

The taxi drivers were dropping like flies, suffering from stress! The queue was from purgatory to the gates.
St. Peter was hot and bothered, Michael and Gabriel had a good idea who had who had called every taxi in the city to
Battery Park. Adriel looked confused, Satan chuckled.

The Accident

The helicopter hovered above the trees, expertly piloted. It had been flying for two hours then in a moment of inattention from the pilot it clipped a tree. Sending it crashing to the ground.
“OMG. Billy, Dads going to go mad when he sees the mess we’ve made of his new toy.”

Shockwaves.
All of a sudden the beach went quiet, no one could believe their eyes. The tide had just turned, no the sea had disappeared. Standing frozen to the spot they couldn’t believe their eyes. This was Brighton Sussex.
Then the shout went up, RUN! They did but there was nowhere to run.
