Autumn met with me today
Blowing my cobwebs away.
She invites leaves down from the trees
To dance and fly around as they please.
A carpet of acorns she has laid down

And conkers in hues of reddish brown.

She likes the dark and mysteries
Look what she is doing to the trees

There is colour too, all is not dead
Yellows,Green, Brown and splendid Red.
You can smell the bonfires on the air
Halloween’s up her sleeve so beware.
Autumn here, she has made her stand
Bannished Summer with a wave of her hand.

She has reign until Winter arrives
Autumn will bluster and thrive.

A brave flower stands defiant in the chill
Hanging onto life, not heeding Autum’s will.

An empty bench among the leaves
Does Autumn sit there as her magic she weaves?

So welcome Autumn let you winds blow
The cycle of the seasons will not change I know.
Welcome Autumn Annie
