The Truce

Tom and Stuart never saw eye to eye. They had been at odds since birth. Their parents could not understand how these identical twins could be so at odds. 

The boys survived childhood fighting daily. Thankfully they attended different Universities. When they reached their thirties they decided on a truce. If they met professionally or socially in public they would not fight. 

So they kept apart and both worked hard. The night of the Major Incident they were both called in . The Main co-ordinator called the fire chief and the senior Doctor to a meeting. As Tom (MD) and Stuart (Chief Fire Officer) entered the incident van, they bristled, old aggressions flared. Both took a deep breath and as they shook hands they both said. “When we’re together, we never fight, we’ve got better things to do tonight…”

 So they set to, to save as many lives as possible. Those around them, who knew them well breathed a sigh of relief.
