The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 18/19

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “adverb.” Start your post with any adverb and just run with it. Have fun!

Absentmindedly she sat in the café pushing the food around her plate. She had been sat there for over an hour.

Sighing deeply she was bored, but as she politely ordered another coffee she saw the mark arrive.

The adrenaline began violently coursing through her body. Feeling sexually aroused she bit her lip.

Quietly she approached the mark, as she passed him she clumsily fell into him. No one took any notice if the insignificant woman, who unseen by anyone injected the man on his mobile.

Elatedly she left Oh! That felt good, she loved the naughty rush of the kill… The handsome paycheck helped too.

Back at the café the mark finished his coffee and contemplated the rest of his day not knowing he had only minutes to live.

He got up to leave and collapsed loudly.

This little tale came to you care of LindaGHill’s #SoCs.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 11/19. Strain.

Take the strain

It’s worth the pain

We’ll never walk this way again.

Lose the slack

Don’t even look back

Tighten up we’re under attack.

Fight the stress

Your such a bloody mess

Keep it tight there’s no redress.

So take the stain

And loose the slack

Fight the stress there’s no going back.

This strained emotion came to your care of LindaGHill’s #SoCs.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 4/19.

Hello it’s Saturday morning and time for LindaGHill’s Saturday Stream of Consciousness. Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “fall from the sky.” Write about anything that falls from the sky–real, imagined, or idiomatic. Have fun!

They fell from the sky. At the beginning just a few. No one really noticed at first, because they were not affected.

It was noticed finally, this strange phenomenon, after a week or two. The feathers were everywhere. Covering lakes and rivers and finally the seas.

Machinery ground to a halt, planes , cars and trains crashed. The world fell silent. Governments panicked and brought out Draconian laws to keep the peace.

We thought it could get no worse, no transport of any sort, everything was effected. Nothing could function, people began to starve. Not just the poor those with money and power suffered too.

Then when we thought it could get no worse the angels fell from the sky.

This week LindaGHill has given us this interesting,Stream of Consciousness Saturday. She said “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “rib.” Use it as a word, or find a word with “rib”in it. As always, use any way you’d like. Enjoy!”

So let’s see where we go.

An Acrostic Haiku for #SoCs

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 30/19 .

Doh! Dough.

SoCS badge by Pamela,

Doh! I was so busy yesterday I missed my personal deadline for Stream of Consciousness Saturday . Yes LindaGHill said : “Your challenge for this week’s #SoCs is Doh! / Dough. Use one use both but make sure you have fun”

Well what can I say Doh! accompanied by either hitting yourself on the head, embarrassment or annoyance is a perfect exspleitif first coined by Homer Simpson.

Dough on the other hand can be two different things. The original meaning of the word is what you make when making bread , you need to knead dough when making bread or doughnuts. Which reminds me doughnuts are Homer Simpson’s favourite food intact I think they are part of his staple diet, if not his staple diet!

The other is a more modern use for the word dough and it refers to money. As in “You need to work to earn the dough” or “that costs a lot of dough!”

Just a thought do you remember the Pillsbury Doughboy. The Pillsbury flour company made numerous adverts staring the cute dough boy who was always being poked and prodded by a human finger. The adverts spanned 1965 to 2017.

And now an Acrostic poem about and spelling Dough.

Don’t forget to knead the dough

Or your loaves will not grow

Unless you put the work in

Get it right or your bread will be thin

Happy bread will sell and dough you’ll win.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 23/19

Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “the last piece of mail you received.” Talk about the subject of the last piece of physical mail you received, i.e. a gas bill–talk about gas, not the bill itself. Have fun.

Well this post has been a complete disaster! I posted it and somehow deleted it ! Eight people looked at it and it got three likes. ….All lost now.

Now I have to start again and to be honest I thought it was one of the most boring posts I have ever written. Anyhow as this is #SoCs I suppose I had better try and write it again.

The last real letter I received through the letter box was about an ISA.

What is an ISA :

An ISA is an Individual Savings Account It works like a normal savings account, except you don’t pay any UK income or capital gains tax.

How many types of ISA are there?

There are six main types of Isa:

  • Cash
  • Stocks and shares
  • Innovative finance
  • Junior
  • Help to Buy
  • Lifetime

Well there is a lot more I could ramble on about..

Plenty but I am stopping now because this post is so incredibly boring ! Are any of you still awake, I am not.

So let’s end this load of stupid tosh with an Acrostic Haiku.

Image below from Pixabay.

I invest today

Saving now for the future

Always plan forward.

******

Well it’s not a patch on the first Haiku I wrote but I can’t remember what I wrote.

This piece of rambling stupidity was written for LindaGHill‘s #SoCs.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 2/19

Today’s prompt for SoCs is a bit different, as it doesn’t come from LindaGHill. Instead it was a suggestion by M. Oniker during Just Jot it January. She actually has a blog dedicated to SoCS posts! You can find her last post here. Drop by and say hi!

Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “Affirm.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

An Acrostic poem .

Rules and Pingback here

To affirm, to assert, attest to . Proclaim, swear to be honest it all smacks of going to court. To avow to the truth, testify, bear witness.

Affirmation to

Fill your lungs with truth, avow

Fedelity speaks

In voices that proclaim the

Righteous testimonials,

Men bear witness to.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Dec. 22/18

This week’s #SoCs prompt from LindaGHill is: Tin use it as you will, a word or part of but have fun.

TINTIN was a childhood favourite of mine. I used to love listening to his adventures on the wireless, better known these days as the radio.

Hergé’s adventures of TinTin was so exciting to me as a child and I loved to imagine all the characters! I also loved the books and finally the TV series.

Photo from Wiapedia of the Author Hergé with a bust of TinTin.

The main characters from TinTin from Wikipedia

The main Characters (the good guys ) are

Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson and Thompson, AKA The Thomson Twins.

So there you have it my childhood Hero TinTin.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 13/18

This week’s prompt for LindaGHill’s SoCs is Precious .

Rules and Pingback Here

Precious is a word

That is mainly reserved

For that which is special and rare

Like a first tooth or a lock of baby hair

Or the kind of love,

A gift from above.

That a lucky few can share.

Metal can be precious too

Or rare stones of green or blue.

Yet if I were to be honest

To live and love and do our best

For eachother

And protect our world is just so precious.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for SoCS August 4/18
