The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS April 11/2020

Well it’s Saturday again and time for Stream of Consciousness Saturday brought to us by the lovely Linda G Hill. Linda has told us :Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “joint.” Use it as a noun, an adjective, or a verb–use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

SoCs Badge by Shelley!

Well now if we were living in normal times this post could be a joint effort but we are not allowed to have friends or anyone, ( unless we live with them) sitting at the same table. But, hang on this global pandemic should be fought a a worldwide joint effort ( just so long as every one stays ten metres apart).

Joint is a strange word and means more than one thing, it can be a body part, knee, ankle, hip, shoulder, elbow, fingers, knuckles, toes. Also it can be a meeting place like a dancehall, club, pub, bar we’d call it a swinging joint, a quiet joint, a dodgy join but they will all be closed right now and we can’t go.

Then there are carpentry joints collectively they are called joinery but they are joints. here are some of the types, butt, lap, bridle, mitre, box, dowel, dove tail, tongue and groove, groove, dado, mortise and tenon, birdsmouth, cross lap, splice. Who’d of thought there were so many? not me.

You can have joint a present or a joint presentation 😉, joint is a good and varied word.

Well I am all out of time and imagination so let’s fall back on verse. An Acrostic poem entitled Joint.

See how small the scratch is , it was yellow by then and it’s a poisoned joint.

The picture above is from when I got Sepsis last year in the knuckle joint.

I thought it was two meters (or, for us old timers, 6.5 feet). How did you come up with 10 meters? Never mind…
