Big Bash Competition 2017: Connections

What Can Connections  mean ?

Missed Connections a little  love  story.

The  train  was late

Her connection was early

Late  for work she was feeling  surly.

Young  man at  the  station  smiled

Somehow he  calmed  her temper wild

Would  you like a coffee he enquired

Yes  please she replied suddenly  so tired

He said  he’d seen her many  times

Winter cold , rain, fog and even when the  sun shines.

Waiting  for  the  next  connecting  trains

They sat  exchanging  phone numbers and their  names.

Soon their  meeting’s became  the  norm

They  met  at  dusk and  they  met  at  dawn.

Weeks  became months and  then to years

They announced  their engagement  to  station full of  cheers!

So their missed connections  became  a  boon

Making  them a  blushing  Bride  and  handsome Groom.

The wedding  was  a splendid day

No missed  connections  anyway!

Connections: Acrostic

Computers wizz us round  the  world spreading news  good  and  bad

Oh sometimes I  wish  for  gentler  days  when letters  were all we had.

No one shouting  loud  and  proud  about  their wonderful lives on Facebook

Now I know it can be  fun but how  much info about Ada’s lunch can we really  brook?

Everyone  is so busy networking,Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram, do we still really speak

Communications so vast, is it  a blessing or  a curse, is  it  the answer that we seek

The truth is I  am not  sure  if  all the information  sharing  makes life  worse.

I  am not  an Ostrich  with  my  head  hidden  in the  sand, honest  that’s not  my  curse

Only sometimes it looks like  everyone is having  fun when our own lives  are bland.

Never  before  have  we had , news,gossip or  connections so easily to hand.

So let’s maybe put  the brakes on and  make connections by sharing  a hug.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well the  above  Acrostic  poem maybe  sound  rather   anti connections but  the truth is  I have  found  so  much  warmth  and  support  from the  connections I  have made  here on WordPress. Last  year  I  attended  the  Bloggers  Bash  with  trepidation  only to  find  that  everyone  was absolutely  lovely  and  as  they  seemed on line. This  made  me  very  happy  that I  had  been brave  enough  to make  the connections.
OH! so pally
No airs or graces
Names  to faces
Feeling  happy
Feeling safe.
Drinks and  food
All in the mood.
The day flashed by
So happy  I cried.
Yes I can say  one  of  the happiest  days  of  my life.. barring  the obvious, births, marriage.
Now  the  above  were  happy  connections .
Well I  think I  have  said  enough , I would love  to say  thanks  to  all of  the  wonderful people I have  connected with  here at  Wordpress…virtual and  real.
Here is  my  entry, I missed  last week.
These  are  all doors  large  and  small  that I  pass every time  I  walk  to  town not far from   where I live.
A little terrace  of  old  cottages opposite  the church…still lived in! Blue  doors.
All spangly and  sparkling
cu-051-0125-ballroom-dance-classes-ithaca-w180h267
She  was  all spangly and  sparkling
As she  was  dancing dancing
Lightening  up  the  space from darkling
Her feet  , stilettoed  flying.
He  was spellbound  by her
As she  was  dancing dancing
In his arms  he had not  a care
All spangly  sparkling  dancing  dancing.
