The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 2, 2024 Clump.

Linda’s email pinged into my box yesterday, here’s what she had to say.”It’s the first Friday of March, and I’m here with your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. Seriously, I went to put the date on this prompt and was surprised that it’s March already. How did that happen? Here’s this week’s prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “clump.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Badge by Shelley Krupa..

“Those wellies are too big ” she shouted at the disappearing back of her eight year old.
Clump, clump, clump he made his way past her and up the hall to the front door.
As the door slammed shut she rushed to the window to see him meeting his friends at the gate! She had to smile, that clump of red hair on the crown of his head stuck up for fair weather, no matter how she tried it was as persistent as the boy himself.
She heard them all sounding excited all dressed up as whalers / or sailors it was hard to tell. ……
Later that day she met her neighbour Jen, who was also carrying a picnic basket like her , they both smiled, “great minds think alike”
The two women headed off down the road towards the little copse, not much more that a clump of trees, and the stream.
The boys could be heard long before they were seen, by now they were pilots and were zooming around full throttle!
The women entered the copse full of clumps of snow drops, crocuses and early daffs.

The boys didn’t spot the intruders at first but as soon as the smell of sarnies and cake hit them they stopped.
They all allowed the food bearers to wipe their hands and spread a ground sheet. Very soon there was a clump of hungry lads feeding their faces.
