It’s the Daily Prompt! Today is January 11th, so this is the 11th prompt for Just Jot it January 2022, and it’s brought to us by Willow. Thanks, Willow! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 11th, 2022, is “cosmopolitan.” Use the word “cosmopolitan” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Thank you Linda for choosing my prompt..

typically I am fashionably late!

Please excuse the lyrics of this song it was written in a much less politically correct era. The sentiments are good though and perfect for the prompt. Cosmopolitan, is a word for a coming together of all cultures, every city in the world apart from a few in war torn areas are now Cosmopolitan. It is also a cocktail.

A cosmopolitan, or informally a cosmo, is a cocktail made with vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice. Wikipedia.

It is also a magazin popular in the UK and US. Wikipedia

The city planners met and discussed the future :

We want it big , colourful and a blend of every culture.

Yes we must be inclusive of all cultures, creeds and colours.

Indeed we must cater for ever taste, a restaurant of every type, shops selling all ethnic clothes .

Of course we need to make sure everyone is included, a melting pot!

Right truly Cosmopolitan!

That was the plan….but planners seldom get it right ! So what happened to the planners……did their noses begin to rust?

Nice job on your prompt, Willow. After blooming for 10 straight days, I had to take a day off. I’m sorry I missed your prompt, but I participated by comment at Linda’s place.

Thanks for the great prompt and post, Willow. I liked the “Melting Pot” song with its innocence and hopeful lyrics. It reminds me of living on military bases in the 50s and 60s where the schools and neighborhoods were more like melting pots.

In practice, it’s more like a stewpot than a melting pot, which is still not a bad thing. Nowadays, there those who scream “cultural appropriation!” if you have the temerity to do something that “belongs” to another culture. Curiously, it’s only certain cultures that do that….

You hit on far more than I expected to as I planned on the prompt. So now I’m kind of glad I had a book review to do instead. Fun music.🎹🎵

Being 100% cosmopolitan only seems to work on paper!
