Press the button

So  taking a  deep  breath  I pressed  the  button. There was a sudden swish behind us as  a partition   dropped  down all around us  encasing us in an airlock in front of  the  door marked, no.

We all were a little  scared  and  excited  as  we watched  the  meter  registering the atmosphere  being  sucked out  of  the airlock  and  then  the  door  opened  slowly  to reveal the  vast darkness of  space lit  with  a million  stars  and at least  two huge planets.

Standing in silence  transfixed  by  the  view  we were  rooted  to  the spot. Then  we  noticed  the  guide  line  stretching out in front of  us.  Inviting us  to  move forward, out towards  the inky  back  sparkling horizon. Hesitantly  we clipped ourselves  on to  the  guide line  and  slowly  floated out in to the  vacuum.

The  very first  thing  that  we  noticed  was  the  silence, it was deafening! I  said  the  alarms  had  been deafening  when we hit  the first  button  well it  was nothing  compared  to  this  silence. I turned my  head  just in time to  to  see  the  door  we had  left  by  was closed. For  the  second time  today I  knew  the only  way  was  forward .

There we were  the  four of us for  the first  time in our  lives  outside  that  which  we knew  as home  our whole  world.Suddenly  I  felt  alone  and  scared,  two  feelings I  had  never  experienced  before. Looking at  the  eyes of  the others  though  their  visors I could  see they  felt  the  very  same.

To be  continued …….

Song Lyric Sunday – Now We Are Free: by Hans Zimmer and Liza Gerrard

Helen Espinosa  of

THIS THING CALLED LIFE ONE WORD AT A TIME

suggestion for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday is to pick a song that you love from a movie.  I hope that gives you lots of options, but as always, you are welcome to do your own thing and just share music.

So  as  it  is  movie  theme’s this  week  I  thought  okay  I  do not  need  to  have  loved  the  film  just  the  theme. Well  though it is  a  good  film  Gladiator  did not  ring  all  my  bells  but  the  end  theme  really  is  so  beautiful. Now  some of  the  words  are  Hebrew but  most  of  them  are  sounds  , there is  also  a English  translation  but  that  does  not  make  much  sense  either. Yet  taken  as a  whole  the  effect is  magical. The theme  was  written  by  Hans  Zimmer   and  Liza  Gerrard .

I hope  you  enjoy  as  much  as I  do .
