Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me, my friend! Cathy at Curious as a Cathy said: “This week’s theme is whatever music moves you. “
This month’s honorary co-host is Patrick from Adventures in Weseland
Lots of music moves me! So first up here is A Hundred Years from Five For Fighting.
“100 Years” is a song by American singer Five for Fighting. It was released on November 17, 2003, as the first single from his third studio album, The Battle for Everything (2004). The single reached number one on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2007, the song earned a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for more than 1,000,000 copies sold. It also charted in Australia and New Zealand, peaking at number 32 in both countries.
So why does this song move me? Well my mother in law never really liked me that much but she was an amazing woman. She was determined to live to one hundred at least….and she did. I think she would of lived longer but sadly she caught Covid in 2020 and it attacked her brain.
She got her Birthday Card from the Queen, we ordered it for her . The staff at the hospital where she was with Covid, invited my husband on to the ward to celebrate her birthday with her. So the brave guy was suited and booted in PPE and he clebrated with her and all the ward staff.

If ever I get low this is my go to pick me up song 💜 Take That and Greatest Day. “Greatest Day” is a song by British pop group Take That. It was released through Polydor Records on 24 November 2008 as the lead single from their fifth studio album, The Circus (2008). The song was written by the band and produced by John Shanks.
A new song that moves me is Mountain by Sam Ryder. It is just a great reminder that we can do anything if we try.
“Mountain” is a song by British singer and songwriter Sam Ryder. It was released on 12 May 2023 through Parlophone Records. It was written and co-produced by Sam Ryder along with Jimbo Barry and Lewis Allen. Lyrically about perseverance and overcoming and conquering life obstacles, it received its first televised performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, in Liverpool. The song peaked at number 35 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Ryder’s second Top 40 entry in his home country. The song was written for a global brand campaign with Ottobock and some of their disabled performers joined Ryder on stage at Eurovision.
The next song is by Imogen Heap another happy song, when I broke my back the second time Imogen’s music helped to learn to walk and live again. To this day she has a special place in my heart. Here is one that inspired me to write a poem . Below the video a poem inspired by the song.
The earth keeps turning
Gia changes her seasons
Untouched by man’s time
She needs no rhyme or reason
She is patient with us all.

Above a Haiku inspired by the song.
T.Rex were a great group and Marc Bolan died was too young and violently.
“Get It On” is a song by the English rock band T. Rex, featured on their 1971 album Electric Warrior. Written by frontman Marc Bolan, “Get It On” was the second chart-topper for T. Rex on the UK Singles Chart. In the United States, it was retitled “Bang a Gong (Get It On)” to avoid confusion with a song of the same name by the group Chase
Get it on reminds me of our wedding day in 1971.
The first record I ever bought ! I had to save for weeks to afford it. It cost me six shillings and eight pence. It brings back moving memories. It was Come On, by the Rolling Stones.
