Christmas shopping
See the reflection in the Christmas ball does it tell the truth does it open up and show us all? The presents around the tree are they really exactly what you see?
Is everyone as happy as they appear, are we all relaxed and full of good cheer. Did the food all get to the table without a hitch did everyone get on all day with out thinking someone is a bitch.
Are grannie’s jumpers really brill? Did your sister’s mince pies make you ill. Do you really need another drink , hey , no don’t just chuck those glasses in the sink!
If you are not happy, don’t tell me today because Christmas is supposed to be special and so all has to swept up tidy and hidden away.
The drunk can still beat his wife and uncle nobby can rob a young child of their peaceful life. Nothing changes nothing ends, peace and quiet does not descend. The poor are still poor and hungry the irritable are still brutally angry sadly all the bad things do not go away just because it’s Christmas Day.

I love it all to Cat but we must remember there is a darker side and Christmas can be a terrible time because everyone pretends it is so special . I have tried to take an honest look at what can be an a sad and lonely time…sorry I don’t mean to be a downer.

No i totally agree xx i know as much as it is as HAPPY time ….it is a sad time –
i dislike the consumerism —-
and i know that soooooooooo many are lonely and it is the highest time of depression …..
i just think Globally all the time – in my mind
and i think we can be Christmas at all times – You know what i mean ? …….

I knew you would understand, Cat I think we have a lot in common. I have often found Christmas difficult even when the children were small what was expected was not always reality. Even now I feel a stress and pressure more so at Christmas. I have been known to drop half a stone in December!! Have a good evening hun! xx

Hi Cat I do know those types of dreams I often have them. It is 9.30am here and you’ve caught me on my way out of the door on my way to pbysio class for my back. Over the years I have heard many after the holiday stories, some were touching but most were uncomfortable. One of my co-workers would ask if there was any blood on the rug when you left- and then congratulate you for having survived. I try to stay flexible and go with the flow, i also sing a lot to myself.

Yes it is a sad time often for the poor, the lonely, the abused, the unhappy, the depressed and the ill they see all this “picture perfect” Christmas on the TV and at the shops and it makes their seem situation worse. I have had some awful Christmases but I do not mean to put a downer on things! I shall be as busy as the next this year. God bless you and be happy.

Christmas for me is special because that is the only time me and my family gather together, but I agree with you on this post the season can never be change the hidden truth , the cancer of our society, I don’t wanna be a downer either but it is the saddest part behind the glitters and sparkles from this season….
