The Crow Angel

She fell to earth without warning it was early and the sky was full of the colours of a new day’s dawning. She was freezing and had never felt so alone without her kin so far from home. Never had she felt this cold even though she was three millennia old.

She was weeping silently when she was approached by some crows, one, two ,three. Gentle sister why do you weep why are you here your eyes are wide and you smell of fear. Brothers and sisters I have been exiled from heaven and I do not know if I will ever be forgiven.

Sister, asked the largest crow what is your crime, that from heaven you have been told to go. With downcast eyes she replied I fell in love with one , to me forbidden then to conceal this fact I lied. Is it a sin to fall in love, asked the second crow, her slender neck inclined. We thought love came from up above we often see the humans kissing arms entwined .

OH! I don’t know what to do said the angel, her heart feeling as if it were rent in two.  The third crow, the smallest and the youngest asked her where is the one she loved . With her head in her hands she cried, he is banished too. He is gone, Lost to me I don’t know what to do.

The smallest crow sent forth a call which summoned their flock one and all.We can help you angel dear we will help you find your love have no fear.

Then the skies from far and wide were filled with black crows answering the littlest crows cries! For now I can relate no more as I am tired and my eyes are sore . I shall be back ere soon and tell you more.
