Welcome to the Décima Poetry Challenge. Each week we’ll be attempting a Décima, also known as an Espinela, poem.
If you don’t know how to write a Décima, click HERE to go to a post on How to Write an Espinela or Décima Poem.
I shall try to incorporate the prompts for this week’s Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Haiku Challenge which were meet and part. Apologies now for the last line.😳

Don’t go we have just met please stay. It is too soon for us to part. If you go now you’ll break my heart. I have been living for this day Now’s not the parting of our way Too much water under the bridge. Don’t abandon me on this ridge. The soul confluence of our lives A force of nature that pulls and drives. Don’t swot my poor heart like midge.
It is Sunday and and time for Song Lyric Sunday. Jim Adams, our gracious host has said. “today’s prompt is “Come/ Go/ Leave/ Stay.
The first song that came to mind is I’ll follow the sun by the Beatles.
“I’ll Follow the Sun” is a song by the the Beatles. It is a ballad written primarily and sung by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. It was released in 1964 on the Beatles for Sale album in the United Kingdom and on Beatles ’65 in the United States, but was written long before that year: a version recorded in 1960 can be found on the bootleg record You Might As Well Call Us the Quarrymen. The song was released as a mono extended play 45 in 1964 on Parlophone/EMI (and in 1995 as a B-side to “Baby It’s You”). In July and August 1965, the song peaked at number 4 on Sweden’s Kvällstoppen Chart.[4]
I am not keen on McCartney but this is one of his better songs.
Then I thought of this one! Which I live and adore and knocks all other versions in to a cocked hat, even the Original by Bob Dylan!
“If You Gotta Go, Go Now” (sometimes subtitled “(Or Else You Got to Stay All Night)“) is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1964. The first released version was as a single in the US by the UK group The Liverpool Five in July 1965, but this went uncharted in the US despite receiving much airplay, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. Another English band, Manfred Mann, then issued the song as a single in September 1965; this version reached number 2 on the UK charts.
And here is my second favourite version in French from Fairport Convention.
Listen to me, baby There’s something you must see I want to be with you, gal If you want to be with meBut if you got to go It’s all right But if you got to go, go now Or else you gotta stay all night. It ain’t that I’m questionin’ you To take part in any quiz It’s just that I ain’t got no watch An’ you keep askin’ me what time it isBut if you got to go It’s all right But if you got to go, go now Or else you gotta stay all nightI am just a poor boy, baby Lookin’ to connect But I certainly don’t want you thinkin’ That I ain’t got any respectBut if you got to go It’s all right But if you got to go, go now Or else you gotta stay all night. You know I’d have nightmares And a guilty conscience, too If I kept you from anything That you really wanted to doBut if you got to go It’s all right But if you got to go, go now Or else you gotta stay all nightIt ain’t that I’m wantin’ Anything you never gave before It’s just that I’ll be sleepin’ soon It’ll be too dark for you to find the doorBut if you got to go It’s all right But if you got to go, go now Or else you gotta stay all night.

“Stay” The Hollies
Well your mama don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
And your papa don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
If we have another dance, oh yeah,
Just one more time
Oh won’t you stay, just a little bit longer
Now please, please, please
Now hello, well are you going to
Well your mama don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
And your papa don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
If we have another dance, oh yeah,
Just one more time
Oh won’t you stay, just a little bit longer
Oh let me hear you say you will (say you will)
Won’t you put your sweet lips to mine
Won’t you say you love me, all of the time
Oh, oh, oh yeah just a little bit longer (whoa yeah)
Now please, please, please
Now hello, well are you going to
[Break]
Oh won’t you stay, just a little bit longer
Now please, please, please
Now hello, well are you going to
Well your mama don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
And your papa don’t mind (bop-bop-shu-waddah-wah)
If we have another dance, oh yeah,
Just one more time
