Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 79: (VERVE) in the C rhyme line.

Enthusiasm and delight
Mixes with Gaia’s perfect plan
The insects are a happy gang .
Some just crawl others take to flight.
Joy da vivre keeps them up all night.
This party is full of such verve
The bugs are on an upward curve.
Butterflies, spiders, ladybugs
All bouncing mad as if on drug.
Phychedelic bugs, high on lovre.

Ear worm,

What is this torture I fear
Around the world for help I sweep
Driving me to madness I weep
This cacophony in my ear
Ramping my madness up a gear
It eats away my sanity
Please rescue me, help me be free
The music worm attacks my brain
Repeating, making mental pain
Oh! smite this ear worm, smite me!

His demeanor is so sunny
He stands proud on his last hoorah!
Knowing he’s spread his seeds afar.
Across meadows just like honey.
From lawns they want him gone, funny.
Sparks memories of days of old.
Blowing fairy wishes untold.
A green and yellow dandy he
Such a glorious sight to see.
He’s such a delight to behold

A line of blood drawn in the sand.
Poison and fear begin to drip
Over the evil rules you trip
The men stand with guns in hand
Hide you’re not worthy as woman.
Every inch you have ever gained
Wrenched from you, all your freedom drained.
Deserted, left now high and dry
False promises your left to cry.
Lost forever the freedom gained.

He is such a bully , that chuck
Thinks he’s the boss, keeps pushing us.
Why does he always make such fuss.
He’s afraid of the two leg’s crook.
Disobedience he’ll not brook.
The shepherd’s rules he’ll never buck.
Then he pushes us and his luck
We pretend to do his bidding
Keeping our true feelings hidden.
Then shepherds dog gives us less truck.

#TANKATUESDAY WEEKLY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 240, #THEMEPROMPT

WELCOME TO TANKA TUESDAY!

It’s the fourth week of the month! This is our theme prompt. Vashti Quiroz-Vega, from last month’s challenge, picked the theme. Colleen is excited about this one… it’s something we’ve never done before!

This month’s theme is:

LULLABY.

I have chosen to write a Décima. The Décima is a Spanish form of poetry, though the term is also used to describe stanzas of ten lines. Each of the ten lines is made up of eight syllables and the rhyming scheme is abbaaccddc. I have written one stanza for my lullaby.

Lullaby.

Borne upon gossima soft wings
I transport you to a safe place
Rewarded by your smiling face
Listen as the nightingale sings
Of cotton clouds and gentle things.
Soon Morpheus will have you safe
Then I might follow with God’s grace.
Don’t stir, don’t cry hush now and sleep
Evil will not in your dreams creep
While we escape life’s crazy pace.

Rootless, why am I am so rootless .
Limits of life nature is best.
We follow the rules of the quest.
Running fast from trouble and stress.
We have no home or ties that’s best.
Freedom we crave from birth to grave.
No ties , no thethers , we are brave.
We are within the special groove.
We bend and roll we dance and move.
It is freedom that we do crave.

I have chosen to continue my theme from Mondays Haiku Challenge. I actually did a Tanka.

The tree is old, it’s dying now
A cancer has eaten it’s soul.
T’is hollow now where once t’was whole.
Rotting fruit withers on the bough.
Wasps, invited to death’s feast, row
Over sweet rotting apple core
They feast and gorge demanding more.
This is the circle of all strife
Just one pip needs to seed for life
Then appple trees will grow once more.

The Predator

A predator lying in wait
Unaware the prey will bumble
It’s loud and often will mumble
Sadly unaware of its fate
Unknowingly it is the bait
Passing the chair still unaware
It’s nemeses is hidden there.
A yawn, a stretch a sharpened claw.
Preys struck, stumbles hits head on door.
Cat smiles, job done, she doesn’t care.

Olympic Surfing.

Sadly to me it’s out of reach
New disaplines are now out there.
Fast, dangerous so have a care.
Let’s go to Tsurigasaki beach
The excitement my skin will bleach.
I need to see the surfers fly
Below blue sea, above blue sky
Giant waves lift and carry dreams.
The odd wipeout brings shouts and screams .
No idea how the judges score
Huge waves, water funnels and more.
To win gold medals they all try.
