Who am I nominating  today, anyone who would like to join in 💜

Today is the last day of the five day Music that means something challenge. Today  I am going back to 1970, the year before I got married. The song is El Condor Pasa. It is sung by Simon and Garfunkel, it can be found on their semminal album Bridge over troubled water. Paul Simon wrote the English lyrics. The lyrics are just beautiful and always take me back to my 16th/17th year on this planet when I though everything Simon and Garfunkel wrote was key.

This song always reminds me however much I might wish for something better, things are what they are and I must make the most and best of what I have.

El Condor Pasa (If I Could)”

I’d rather be a sparrow than a snail
Yes, I would
If I could
I surely would

I’d rather be a hammer than a nail
Yes, I would
If I only could
I surely would

Away, I’d rather sail away
Like a swan that’s here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world its saddest sound
It’s saddest sound
