Thursday photo prompt: Transition #writephoto

Step into the light

To learn to fly

Be a force of right

Don’t give in, just try.

If in shadows you cower

You will only see the half

Open your heart, let it flower

Seize life drink the whole draught.

********

Sometimes it is easier to accept half measures than to strive to understand the whole. Not all make the transition to acceptance and knowledge. Yet we can all try to.

Thursday photo prompt: Wicker #writephoto

This Acrostic two part poem  is part of  Sue Vincent of  The Daily Echo’s  #writephoto.

Wicker

Witches three, they  called us little did they know

Insinuations made against us , lead us to be burned, slow.

Children we delivered , denounced an turned away

Kindling they all gathered to help  build the fire that day.

Each and everyone  who was witness we had healed through out  their lives.

Renounced  and  and  sold us out.

Women

We stand  here as reminders to what you have all done

OH! yes you are responsible for the future  that’s  to come

Mend your ways, but  the harm is done your reign is  almost run.

Endlessly you have  misused  Nature’s gifts

Now we join our hands in prayer  for you it’s more than you deserve.

Thursday photo prompt: Rooted #writephoto

Roots

Spread like

Waking dreams

Softly flowing

Kaleidoscope greens

Each a wish or a scheme

Flowing from us like a stream

Our canopies brightly adorned

Loves celebrated, loves lost mourned

Secrets, dark and light, forces of god’s light.

You have no idea what I have seen

Winters white, golden light, Spring leaves green

You tie your colours to my boughs

Hoping I will heal your ills

You do not understand

Nature’s true power

Older than time

Reason, rhyme

Spread like

Roots.

Thursday photo prompt: Monochrome #writephoto

This is my entry for Sue Vincent’s Thursday Photo Prompt.

Stormy skies matched the house. The scene, perfect monochrome.

As she approached she asked herself when did this place cease to be a home.

Times of banquets, times of joy

Times to be bold, times to be coy.

Fearsome battles and subdefuse

Choose your side wisely or you will lose.

Secrets hidden within these walls

Footstep echos of ghosts in the halls.

Children’s voices long since hushed

Love affairs and feuds all crushed.

The house grows old , she alone will remain.

Bound by fate to watch in pain.

Stormy skies matched the house. The scene monochrome.

When did this place cease to be a home.

Thursday Photo prompt: Beyond. #writephoto.

Soft

Whispers

Ancient truths

Carried on the

Sun’s waining last rays.

Reafirmes the old ways

Closer to Mother Nature

Bathing us in a light so pure.

Our technology is not secure

The voices in the light know so much more.

The Etheree above is my entry for Sue Vincent of The Daily Echo #writephoto.

Thursday photo prompt: Threshold #writephoto

She couldn’t stay here for long the tide would turn in a few hours and she would be trapped.

Strangely she had survived the previous night she had found a circular shaft in the cave. Although she had managed to shimmy up away from the hungry waters she had been scared and cold in the dark. Her body was now much weakened and she knew she could not survive another night.

What should she do, there was no going back. The villagers would stone her or even worse burn her at the stake.

These people knew her, they were her family, neighbours and friends even. They had seen her grow, they had known of her knowledge of the herbs and potions and books.

She had lived happily among them, all her life. Every single one of them had cause to be grateful for her skills. That meant nothing now.

Cold and hungry she sat watching the sea washing the shore line. Listening to the waterfall, outside the cave, she wondered what to do.

Just as the tied started to turn she felt a presence at her side. Turning she was astounded to see Gia standing there smiling down at her.

“What are you doing here child,” mother earth asked her. “Why do you weep”

She looked into Gia’s beautiful face and told her the sad and sorry tale.

Gia touch her gently, and she turned to stone. “Fear not” my child she said. “You will rest here safe in my womb and when the time is right I will return and change you back.” Gia smiled and the girl felt safe and warm. No longer tired or hungry she felt at peace. “When the world needs you and, it will need you. I shall return you to your human form so you can continue your work.”

Goddess mother Gia

Protects those who worship her

Bountiful mother.

Thursday photo prompt: Bright #writephoto

#writephoto

This is my entry for Sue Vincent’s of Daily Echo. #writephoto. Bright.

Bright

After

All the dark

Now in our lives

Mother Nature brings

The spring to bring us hope

A leafy dell centred bright

Shadows form shade under the trees

The warmth of the sun lifts our souls.

Bluebells and green grass sooth our troubled souls.

Beware the sleeping Dragon

Can

you see

him there his

Head finely carved.

Eyes fixed in a stare.

Don’t walk upon his back

Be respectful and have care

For millennia he’s slept there

Resting, gathering strength he awaits

Merlin’s call to help save us from our fate.

We

Do not

See him there

We choose not too

Dragons are not real

Ever denying truth

We do not believe enough

Yet the Dragon believes in us.

Storing his strength to be ready

For the call he will rise when all else falls.

Thursday photo prompt: Tranquil #writephoto

#writephoto

This is part of Sue Vincent‘s #writephoto. Today I have tried an Acrostic poem.

Tranquil

Too stressed to talk

Resentful I storm out

And went for a walk

Not heeding the direction

Quite by chance I find this place

Unspoilt by man’s intervention

I drink in its beauty and grace

Lost in Mother Nature’s beauty.

Thursday photo prompt: Invitation #writephoto

Tempting, open just a crack

Beckoning  to me, calling  me off the old track.

What delights are  hidden  through the gate, ajar

My senses  drawn to enter

The forbidden is always  a lure.

Like  Eve I am drawn to the unknown

Helpless to resist. Toward it I am drawn.

On the  fresh hold I stand with baited breath

Push the gate, feet itching no choice left.

I enter no man’s land  and  behold

Open my mind as the mysteries unfold.
