She had seen it all. Witnessed the sordid things they had done. Now there was nothing left to see. Infront of her wasteland, to either side and behind her nothing was left.

It was strange only her tower remained. She smiled, though you would not of been able to look at her face it had been shot away years previously. ………

She hovered above the the only remaining building, her church, looking at her defaced statue, she sighed . No point in being here any longer. She had tried hard, prayed for them all to the bitter end. They were all gone now.

She heard a voice in the distance “Mother please come home now”

Why not she though there was nothing to stay for now.

As she left she pulled the statue from its ledge, as it fell she whispered. ‘ they tried to make me a false idol.

Miss

Kitty

Sits pretty

Smile on her face

Tom paws on his hips

Wild blue eyes and tight lips

Toto hanging by his claws

He knows Miss Kitty has her flaws

He would fight mighty Tom to the death

He’ll love Miss Kitty to his dying breath.

Beneath the moon Miss Kitty thinks she’ll swoon

If Mighty Tom discovers Toto

They’ll fight and one will be laid low

Suddenly the gutter cracks

Toto looses his grip

Soon he starts to slip

He drops to ground

Miss Kitty

Softly

Sigh.

The Gift.

tower

It

Was so

Long ago

All else forgot

Except Meg had not.

A random kind gift

Which brought her so much pure joy

Given to her by a kind boy.

Lovingly she built a high tower

Wrung with steps so she could reach her flower

Twice daily she performed her blessed job

Once she was spry, now no longer fast

Rain or shine whatever season

She gave her whole to the task

For help she never asked

This was her life’s work

She would not shirk

Who gave her

The gift

God.

Here is the prompt photo. I see three generations looking out for a lost love taken by the sea. Turned to stone as they wait. I also see a family pet.

They wait patiently

Watching ever hopeful of

A return from sea

A family ripped apart

Turned to stone but still with heart.
