Song Lyric Sunday. Interchangeable

Hi It’s Sunday again and it is time for Jim Adams to give us our weekly prompt for #SLS. This week our words are Promise/Vow/Oath .

Well you can’t beat John Denver can you !

Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. (December 31, 1943 – October 12, 1997), known professionally as John Denver, was an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actor, activist, and humanitarian, whose greatest commercial success was as a solo singer. After traveling and living in numerous locations while growing up in his military family, Denver began his music career with folk music groups during the late 1960s. Starting in the 1970s, he was one of the most popular acoustic artists of the decade and one of its best-selling artists. By 1974, he was one of America’s best-selling performers, and AllMusic has described Denver as “among the most beloved entertainers of his era”. Then in these strange times we should all vow to our country, what ever country that is. I wish you all well , and safe.

I picked this video for Beck Goldsmith’s voice it’s so beautiful and pure. She says :

I’m a vocalist, songwriter and composer.

I’m originally from Nottinghamshire, currently live in Derbyshire and often work in London.

I write and record for film, tv and pleasure.

I love playing with textures, atmospheres and soundscapes and am currently exploring creative response to place through contemporary, immersive and experimental forms.

I also love to hear from people and collaborate. Don’t be shy. Information from here.

I Vow to Thee, My Country” is a British patriotic hymn, created in 1921, when a poem by Sir Cecil Spring Rice was set to music by Gustav Holst.

I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice

And there’s another country, I’ve heard of long ago
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace

Song Lyric Sunday

Wedding Etheree.

Two

Lifes join

Together

As one, heart, soul.

Made complete and whole

Today their journey starts

They face a future unknown

From tiny seeds their love has grown

From now on they will have eachother

To have, and hold today and tomorrow.

You are my Awesome

Standing there in your  cape of gold you look so smart, in your hand you hold the very stuff of life. You shine the light around exposing the dull and grey, you hold in your power the colours of the day.

You have brought me here to the edge of time so we can watch the grey be pushed away, soon all that will be left will be the colours that shine. Now you will pledge your live to me and I shall pledge to thine.

So can you fly, will you try to. Show me your beating heart as the dawns rays climb up the hill once more on a new day. Time is on the run it is speeding up but it cannot out run the rising sun.

Awesome you are my awesome you are the music and the words to my song. The light you bring the colours that shine we shall be here together until the end of time. So take my love and take my life it is all for you. Remember I called you Awesome and you  have called me your Awesome too.
