Withdrawal is the End in sight.

I have been telling you all, about (I hope) the last few weeks of weaning myself off of Gabapentin. Itโ€™s a neuropathic painkiller. I have been on it for over eight years I have weaned myself down from four times, six hundred mgs a day to one hundred mgs twice a day then finally 100 mgs every other day. With no great help from the doctors who just want to hand them out like sweets to keep me quite. Recently I had been altenating between one 100 mgs morning and night one day and just one 100mgs in the evening on the alternate day. Now as I said I am down to one pill everyother evening.

Today Geoff of TanGental (a great person and a great blogger) asked me how I am getting on. He made me think two things… One: I have not been sharing with you guys because I have gone down so low.

Two: Fingers crossed and not to anger the gods of withdrawal I do actually feel I am turning a corner.

๐Ÿคž Maybe the final corner. I am down to one tablet every other night. Really the big barrier is phsycological l need to be a big girl and drop this last pill. I have about a months worth left and to make sure I cannot cave and re-order any Gabapentin I have had them removed from electronic prescription so I can’t get anymore without a drs say-so.

Even though I have been resting and healing a nasty sprained and strained ankle and foot I have managed to keep my spirits up. Also I kept away from any painkillers apart from one ibufen at night to help me sleep.

It has been a long journey ( over 8 years ) and though I am not there yet I do feel I am getting there and I am hoping that just like the Tramadol I can beat this!

I treated myself today and had my nails done.

Time to hopefully feel confident and spoil myself a little. Thanks Geoff for making me think.

Thanks to all of you for your amazing support I am so grateful. I just wanted to say it has been no picnic and I wish I had never started on these tablets, Tramadol and Gabapentin but I did. I am nearly there I kicked Tramadol about 2 years ago and the end is in sight for the Gabapentin.

I hope anyone going through this same journey might read this and take heart. I wish you well and know you can do it.

Thank you everyone.

Annual Bloggers Bash 2017 Update.

The Bash is so close now and I am so excited: Here is the latest news ๐Ÿค—

Bloggers Bash Update

The Bash is getting closer and closer guys, I can’t wait to see you all. There’s tons to catch up on so I’ll try and keep it short and sweet.

1. The nominations are open. If you haven’t already nominated then make sure you do before the 8th May. Nominate here. The vote will open at 8AM on the 18th May and of course I’ll email you before to remind you to vote.
2. Tickets are selling fast, if you haven’t already got yours you can buy it here
3. We have an agenda for the day, we will add a few more details and remove the question marks in a couple of weeks, but for now, you can see our rough outline here.
4. If you won an award last year, and you’re coming to the event, can you drop me a line to let me know. We might have a favor to ask you.

Lots of you are asking about tickets and receipts. If you get a PayPal receipt then you have a ticket. Once ticket sales close on the 7th I will send you out your tickets that evening. You’ll then need to print it or bring it on your phone.

I think that’s it for now. Thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions for the panel debate, we’re busy putting that together and will have more info shortly.

As always, don’t forget to share the bash and tell all your friends.

Have an awesome weekend.
