Shut out
Lost am l
In this dark tunnel
Without hope
Bleak heart full
Of much regret and sadness
No hope left for me.
🖤🖤🖤
Joy denied
Shut out in the cold
No entry
Just exiled
There’s no chance of redemption
My soul is not free.

Song Lyric Sunday |
Fresh from an idea from HELEN ESPINOSA’S blog. Here is the pingback
My song this week , my second week, is an old favourite of mine from Imogen Heap,” Say goodnight and go. ‘
On the face of it this is a very happy little song but on closer listening to the lyrics you discover that it is a song
about a stalker, who is infatuated with a lad she knows….. Her love is totally unrequited,she wants more than he has
to offer ! I don’t know why I just love the song !
#################################
Skipping beats, blushing cheeks I am struggling
Daydreaming, bed scenes in the corner café
And then I’m left in bits recovering tectonic tremblings
You get me every time
Why d’ya have to be so cute?
It’s impossible to ignore you
Must you make me laugh so much
It’s bad enough we get along so well
Say goodnight and go
Follow you home, you’ve got your headphones on and you’re dancing
Got lucky, beautiful shot you taking everything off watch the curtains wide open
Then you fall in the same routine flicking through the TV relaxed and reclining
And you think you’re alone…
Why d’ya have to be so cute?
It’s impossible to ignore you
Must you make me laugh so much
It’s bad enough we get along so well
Say goodnight and go
One of these days, you’ll miss your train and come stay with me
We’ll have drinks and talk about things, any excuse to stay awake with you
You’ll sleep here, I’ll sleep there, but then the heating may be down again
at my convenience
we’d be good, we’d be great together.
[Sigh]
Go!
Say goodnight and go,
why’s it always always
goodnight and go
Darling not again
Goodnight and go

I almost got it right
I almost topped the bill tonight
Most times no one notices me at all
Tonight I shone tonight I made the most of all!
I almost jumped the moon tonight
Swung from a star almost got it right
Most of all I excelled , most of all I flew
Almost caught your eye, most of all I tried, true.
This part of the Linda G Hill Stream of Consciousness Saturday.
Linda said : “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “almost.” Use it however you’d like. Have fun! Here are the rules.
1. Your post must be a stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. I will post the prompt here on my blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” or “Begin with the word ‘The’.”
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours. Your link will show up in my comments, for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. Have fun!

They found her curled up in the suitcase, childlike.
Peaceful and gently beautiful all the pain gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She waited, empty lean years , her suitcase packed.
He promised he’d come for her, he promised he’d come back.
At first she lived a normal life going about the everyday things
Yet she waited and hoped and spurned love and the joy it could bring.
The days were not too bad but the nights took their toll.
She yearned for him and the need grew after dark . It ate her soul.
Suitors took the walk to her door but none of them got past the start
None ever matched up to him , the man who had stolen her heart.
She died an old maid, aunt and friend to many
Dreams and promises broken. The man did not keep any.
Lovers she could of had, remembered her with a smile
The room and the suitcase stand testament to her love all the while ……..
And so the dawn creeps up relieving the night of her dark shroud .
The sky looked as barren and empty as the land not a fleck of cloud!
From out of nowhere came two visitors so beautiful were they.
Horses stallion and mare . They had come to greet and from here to carry the child and Mae.
Polar Bear was pleased to meet them, the Winter Queen knew them of old.
Mae and the child both mounted the mare Mae cuddled her brother against the cold.
The Winter Queen took to the Stallion who she rode with pride
Her Polar Bears unjealous trotted at her side !
So they travelled across the frozen wasteland
That was once her home the child with eyes wide held tight to her hand.
Polar Bear walked silent behind relieved to be on the move again
He only had one wish to return to his human frame
Poor Polar Bear was once a man
He was charged by his dying king to protect his daughter the best he can.
The Evil witch of the East turned him into a Polar Bear
He very soon fell in love with Mae for her he really cared.
He spent two years protecting Mae before he realized his love was all for her.
Sitting at window each day
He sees her as he passes her way.
He drives to work early you see
And she is usually there drinking her cup of tea.
Each morning as she starts the day
She hopes the loneliness will go away.
With her cup of tea sitting in the bay
A lovely way to start the lonely day .
He wonders what she would say
If he plucked up the courage and knocked at her door one day.
Perhaps an evening would be best,
With a bouquet of flowers and in his smartest suit dressed.
Looking out she’d often see the cars passing by while she is sitting there.
A handsome young man always looks her way,
So often now she almost gave him a wave.
He looks so cute as he catches her eye
Each morning as he passes by.
She wonders would he ever stop
And through her door a note he would drop.
They could meet, that would be great
But just how to curve the paths of fate.
Time moves on and so does he,
He is one she no longer sees.
It is a shame she often thinks
As she sips her morning drinks.
One morning being early for work
She stops for a coffee to give her mind that extra perk.
Standing in the queue eyes wander
Landing on a profile that makes her heart beat stronger.
He parks his car everyday
A tidy walk from his work away.
He likes to exercise, he always wonders if the girl in the bay
Has noticed he no longer passes her way.
She was so cute he thinks of her most every day. As he stops for coffee at the usual place,
Waiting in the queue he sees a familiar face.
So as they both turn and come face to face
She smiles at him their hearts pick up the pace.
He flashes her his biggest smile
As butterflies tango in his tummy all the while.
Would she like a coffee she hears him ask,
She would and she tells him so,
Shall we drink it here have you time before you have to go.
So shall we leave them sitting there together now at last .
They do look happy to have met. The shop is busy but they are all alone.
After work they both return to meet, she loves her flowers and then he drives her home……..
I held out my hand to you the other day, you bit it off and threw it away. I tried to phone you, I had things I needed to know . I begged for answers you just said NO!
I laid my heart bare the cut sharp and clean you walk right by me, right through my blood as if you had not seen.
On the bed myself I laid bare you did not show, you just didn’t care. I wore white make up and blacked my hair. As I walked in you just gave me that withering stare.
I walked a mile in bare feet and sat for hours on your street I begged and begged but you would not meet. I sent you messages of un-dying love, dropped red rose petals on you from above.
I lost weight I starved myself I change my image a thousand times , committed several minor crimes. What ever I did you did not want me, you said you would never be mine.
Please notice me
I did my best even proposed on bended knee, you just walk out of the restaurant and made a fool of me. I just don’t know what to do I just need a little nod from you.
Finally I took the hint. I cut my throat and bled to death in your car. At last I thought, I will get your attention. All you said was stupid bitch this time she has gone too far. You walked away and ordered a valet on your car.
