Inhuman Nature.

The cloud had hung over the city for a month. The riots and looting had started week one. By week three all civil law had broken down. Today the city was locked down, total quarantine. It was plain to anyone with half a brain that it was people causing the problem not the cloud.

All dead.

All those letters left unread
Unseen words of people long dead.
Gathering dust and spider webs
The truth they held seeping, ebbs.
Feelings poured out onto the page
Love, grief joy and rage.
I wonder why these missives were hidden
Where they evidence of love forbidden.
Love long dead.

The Walk.

No
body
Hears if you
Scream in deep space
Try as you might
You will just fall from grace.
So clip your harness on tight
Do the repairs , get back inside
You’re so close to God here let him guide.
Be close, work as one, stay safe don’t let go.
No
body
Hears if you
Scream in deep space.

Phone box

The last rays of the sun lit the payphone bronze. Through the dirty window the pool still looked blue. Letters scratched into the glass their meaning long forgotten. Another abandoned motel in the middle of nowhere. No money to use the phone but there was no one to answer it.

Landed.

Rory watched the rain as the plane taxied to its slot. That was the worst flight he’d been on. Turbulence all the way passengers only allowed up for the loo.Serving dinner had been hairy they’d nearly lost the trolley more than once.God he’d never been so grateful to see Heathrow.

Birdcage Walk.

No one noticed the eggs arrival. They incubated on their own. The chicks were put in cages and hung between the buildings. The birds thrived growing to huge proportions. People came from all over to see them. They renamed the road Birdcage Walk. Then one day the cages were empty.

A Sign From Above

Gab returned the tools he had borrowed from Joseph. Mary smiled and offered him a cuppa. Gab enjoyed tea and a chat with the big man’s mum.
Meanwhile Satan was stunned who had dared to put up that dodgy sign at the entrance to his domain. Gab smiled at Mary, was the tide turning?

Art Jim.

Art Dealer:”What do you mean it’s art. Do you think I came down on the last train. The colour is all wrong too white the lines too crisp. Just too clean it’s been done before. Dirtier unsanitary even where are the dirty clothes? Have you anything original”

Lost

All morning wandering around the city. They’d seen many places of interest. None in the right place though! Stopping to discuss where to have their picnic. Dave made a discovery. ‘Bob’ he scolded ‘you’re using that map upsidedown.’ Karen muttered ‘should of gone to Specsavers.’

Twittering Tales #122 – 5 February 2019 – It starts with one word…

Blowing away the dust I saw an old typewriter. There was a piece of paper with five words upon it. Bending down I read. ‘It starts with one word.’
I typed in a word and so it began.
