Every year two red lights, one in the tree and one the attic. Nick looked forward to this stop. Rudolph and the gang not so much. Well, he got brandy and mince pies, they got carrots! This year was different there was a bucket of beer left out for gang. It was zig,zag all the way home.

    Still.

Still there, the monochrome plaque. The light from the air vent illuminating it.Stark against the black tiles. The old fear flooded my back.

“All I said was let them out for a run” Satan mumbled. Michael was having none of it.Gabriel had been sent for time out by the big man. Azriel sat in the corner happily.
The heavenly herd had rampaged the earth leaving destruction in their wake. Satan just couldn’t see the problem

It had all been so hard and scary. Yet today Jess felt calm everything in the garden was beautiful. She always thought of this corner as her secret place. They’d made such a fuss about her sitting out here, she’d won though. Alone now she was tired all pain gone she slipped away.

“Who threw those cards down?”Gabriel was on the warpath again. Satan rolled his eyes why is that big galah always shouting? St Peter took in a sharp breath. God stood up and peered down to earth. “Well” he said loudly, “Someone will be playing 78 card pick up any time now”

    Night Work.

Well it certainly wasn’t a sinkhole, it was incredibly deep. There was no explanation for this huge hole in the road. Suddenly the machinery stopped, silence engulfed them. Then the pounding started, strange lights shone like arcs into the sky.Tentacles appeared, and so it began.

Children should be seen but not heard.

Lilley was lonely. It was nanny’s day off, there were guests downstairs so the servants were too busy to play. Silently she climbed the banisters. Lifting up her dress so as not to snag it. Without a sound she hurtled down the winding rail slap bang into the wall and oblivion.
