The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 12, 2022

Badge by Shelley Krupa..

LindaGHill is hear again to give us this week’s prompt. : “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “trip.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!”

Trip can mean a holiday or a journey, it can mean falling flat on your bum or your face! You can trip people up in a lie as in catch them out. Below is a Décima I wrote last year for Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Décima Challenge. I originally wrote it about Libia. Today what I wrote about Libia is still true . I stream of consciousnessly changed the verses to fit Ukraine to fit all wars also. So this poem started out about Libia it took a trip and became a poem about Ukraine.

Décima .Trip in the B line . The original poem is here

A décima for Ukraine

Line of blood drawn in snow or sand.
Poison and fear begin to drip
Over the evil rules you trip
The men stand with guns in hand
Take the children to safer land
Every inch you have ever gained
Corridors to freedom are drained.
Deserted, left now high and dry
False promises, innocents die
Lost forever the freedom gained.

This is part of LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 19 (RIDE) This week, it’s the B rhyme line.

Décima Escape.

I need to feel wind in my hair
Escape my tormenter and ride
To blow my mind’s cobwebs aside.
Throw caution up into the air
Trip the light fantastic,with care
Bring to me my black stallion.
Sailing land like a Galleon
This is not time for me to bide
Whip up my senses, joy and pride.
Flee from the mean Rapscallion.

Monday Came.

Monday came in  in  bright  and  blustery  with rain

Up late  because  sleep  was late  in  coming  again

Croissants hot  and  jammy  for  breakfast with  hot  coffee

The rain  stopped  and out  we  went  to  see  what  we  could  see.

Through  villages with  narrow  streets and old  ladies  shopping

Along  roads  so  long  and  straight it  had our  eyes  apopping!

Finally we reached  the Chateau   with  river running by

And  town below. We looked  around  and  time did  fly.

Rooms  full of  dead  animals  and  weapons, not  to our taste

Birds of prey, Deer, Elk, and  now extinct wolves, such a  waste.

Moving  swiftly on  we  find  better  rooms with  paintings

History  telling  it’s  story a family  going  back  down the years.

When  we finish  we  walk around  the  little  town

Searching  through nooks and crannies of  streets up  and down.

We returned after we had  seen all there  was  to  see

To  our haven  just in  time  for tea!
