This week Kat at Like Mercury Colliding is writing Tricubes…. as always her poetry choices amaze me and I have to try one …or more this is my first attempt. Thank you Kat.
Tricubes
Here are the rules of tricubes:
- Each line contains three syllables.
- Each stanza contains three lines.
- Each poem contains three stanzas.
So we’re talking cubes in mathematical terms (to the third power). No rules for rhymes, meter, etc. Just three, three, and three.

The painting below is by Dorothea Tanning

Silence reins
No one hears
Me screaming
My smile broad
My eyes dead
Senses cut.
My body
Continues
I give in.
