The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 28, 2022.

Badge by Shelley Krupa..

Hi everyone it’s Saturday again and time for LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Linda has dropped everyone a Friday reminder, except John W. Howell at Fiction Favourites who gets so much more than he ever wanted in terms of strange cartoon characters, low flying planes and weird UPS deliveries…. Lucky for the rest of us we get an email and this week it said :

‘Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “trail/trial.” Use one, use both, use them any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use both. Have fun!

The trail was narrow and shady
We walked in hope and the companionship
You running on, bouncing like crazy
If speparted we would double back quick.

You are always so good, never a trial
Your loving caring ways always brings a smile.
There to protect us while we’re out on the trail
I trust you so our bond will never fail.

Now your getting older the trail is way too hard.
Your old bones ache and your enjoyment marred.
A short walk now can be such a trial for you.
So we lift you gently into the car and take you somewhere new.

You have never been a trial
We’ve loved you all the while
So we keep you out of pain
So you can dream that we are out on the trail again.

August Stanza 24

It is August and so Jane is doing : a chain of images each one suggested by the last word in the preceding poem. They’ll be short, a single image of just a few lines. It will be interesting to see where it ends up by the end of the month.

Kat will be doing short 3,4, or 5 line poems no syllable counts of rhymes, starting with the word ‘August’ on the first day. The last word of the poem will be the first word of day two’s poem, and so on until the end of the month.

Finally I shall be doing all types of poetry but each poem will start with the last word in the preceding poem.

Today’s Poem is possibly a pattern poem, just off the top of my head! (It is ten lines long starting at one syllable growing to five then descending from five to one syllable.)

Pontious Pilot

wash away the blame

It is a holiday today as it was back then, Pilots wife was nagging him to sort out and get rid of these three men.

Two of them were thieves and  that was true  but the third, he was a strange one who had done no bad from what Pilot knew.

But Pilots wife was worrying and the festival approached the crowd were outside baying shouting for him to pass a rule. Was it to be one of these “ner do goods” or this gentle man who rode into town on a mule.

Pilot asks the crowed

Pilots wife sent him a message not to hurt Jesus because he was an innocent man spare him I have dreamt of him he is good  spare him if you can.

Still not wanting to make a judgement or up set the crowed he decided to offer them the choice. “Jesus Christ” the screamed out loud!

Shocked by their reaction but not happy with verdict they voiced  he public washed his hands and absolved himself of their choice.
