Here we are at the unholy month of October. I thought I would do a paranormal, witchy, unholy bunch of poems, some new and some old.
Don’t forget to check out Jane Dougherty and Kat Myrman‘s plans for this month!
Today’s poem is all about the Spirit of Halloween.
I am the the spirit of Halloween
The most beautiful fright you have ever seen.
I am no sprite or fairy Queen
No, I told you, I am the spirit of halloween.
Look into my eyes tell me what do you see.
You might see you but you won’t see me.
You are under my spell now, you are no longer free.
Medusa? No, I told you I am the spirit of Halloween.
Peachy lips, that may be, but there are spiders and maggots hiding in me.
If I open my mouth what would you see .
Shall I show you now ? Then watch you flee.
Shall I? No, I told you I am the spirit of Halloween.
Are you joining me for trick or treat.
We could eat the children that we meet
I can hypnotize them with my blue, blue eyes.
You can smother their pointless cries.
Did you think I was joking, incapable of being mean?
No, I told you I am the spirit of Halloween.

Are you leaving? was it something I said?
My eyes are devouring you slowly, it is ages since I fed!
Oh! Look at you , well you can’t because I have already eaten you head!
I am the the spirit of Halloween
The most beautiful fright you have ever seen.
I am no sprite or fairy Queen
