Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 175, #ThemePrompt

This week we celebrate 🎉 the 175th edition of this wonderful prompt of Colleen Chesebro’s.

This week our prompt comes from Elizabeth, from Tea and Paper, chose the theme: ‘ The Day After’

I decided to write a Tanka today about a young person coming home from a binge night out. It can be read from top to bottom and bottom to top and means the same.

The Day after.

The Sun knows my game

Memory’s clouded, what’s his name

Home late walk of shame

Lesson,won’t do that again

Head is banging full of pain

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 156, #Poet Choice

TUESDAY TANKA!

It’s the first of the month and you know what that means! Poets choose your own words.

PLEASE support the other poets by visiting their blogs and leaving comments. Sharing each other’s work on social media is always nice too. Don’t forget to share your poetry in the comments. It’s been great seeing all your poetry in one place!

So it’s thanks to Colleen Chesebro for the prompt, rules, pingbacks, and poems here. Lonely and Pity are my chosen words this week. Again I have chosen a Tanka. In this time of Christmas with all the hype on the media, the homeless, the poor the ill tend to be forgotten.

Living on the street
Cold, hungry, looking at feet.
No one cares for me
None show any sympathy
Good will to all, oh! really.
********

We have a new badge from Colleen too, thank you Colleen it’s lovely.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 150 #SynonymsOnly

Hi this week Colleen Chesebro has given us the two prompts Trick and Treat. The magic twist is we cannot use those actual words, no we have to use them synonymously.

I have chosen a Shadorma this week, for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. A sad tale of lies, deception and mistreatment.

Deception

T’was ever

Such a deception

As when thou

Promised to

Do fair and handsome by me

Thou didst mislead so.

This week we are using a photo chosen by last month’s “Photo-Prompt” Poet of the Week Jane Dougherty.

I have gone for the obvious Climate change. I have written an Etheree for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

**********

The Ending.

They

All said

It would not

Happen, yet all

The waters are rising

All the birds are leaving home

Temperatures are higher now.

Than they have ever been, water boils.

Gia, head bent succumbs to climate change.

Jane Dougherty and Colleen came up with a fun idea. Whoever is chosen as the Photo-Prompt Poet of the Week will choose the photo for the next month’s photo-prompt challenge.

You can use Pixabay or any other creative commons photos – just give attribution to the photographer. If you would like to use your own photos, just let me know that. Please email the photo NLT 3 days before the next month’s photo challenge.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 144 #SynonymsOnly

This week Colleen has given us the prompt words Enchant and Fly. I have chosen to write a Shadorma for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

The title is Bewitched

You’re bewitched

Within her magic

Held under

Her love spell

Her charm makes your spirit soar

Born on wings of joy.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 142, 1st of the Month #Poet’sChoice

Today is the first Tuesday in the month so we can choose our own two prompts for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

I have chosen Autumn and Age. I am using each of those words and I am using the form of a Nonet.

Life.

The sands of time run out on my life.

No too fast but the years mount up

Like the seasons we all change

I’ve become Autumnal

In this I see much

Beauty, knowledge

That comes with

Growing

Age

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 142 #SynonymsOnly Character &Wild.

Hi and welcome to this week’s Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka. This week’s words are Character & Wild. This week I have chosen a Shadorma.

What do you see.

What aspect

Of nature untamed

Can you sense

Within me

Is it love of free spirit

Or primative lust .

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 139 #Poet’sChoice

Today is the first Tuesday of this month so we get to choose the words for our prompt today. Today I want to try my hand at a Haiga. I have chosen the two words, Precious and Deep. My life is a little Deep at the moment and there are many things there in so precious to me.

Beware

This is part of Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

The package.

Six

O’clock

Amazon

Has been to call

And left the parcel

Outside against the wall.

Jen arrives and parks her bike

This house is still not quite a home

For he is away and she’s alone.

Then she sees the package outside the door.

Full of excitement she gathers it up.

She rushed in doors to open it

It’s a beautiful photo book

Delighted she takes a look

There he is full of smiles

Waving to her from

Across the miles

Suddenly

They are

One.

This is the new mid month photo challenge for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka. I have chosen to tell a story in the form of a Double Etheree.

COLLEEN’S 2019 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 133 #SYNONYMSONLY Plan and Spend.

This week Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday Challenge is to use the words Plan and Spend Synonymously. I have chosen a Tanka this week.

Father Love.

I intend to stay

And while away this short day

In your company

I aspire to be happy

It’s my design to pass time.
