Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 153 #SynonymsOnly

It’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka. This week our prompts are Grace and Style. I have written a Tanka about Thanksgiving. Using, ‘give thanks’ for Grace and ‘as pilgrims did for’ Style.

 Join me for this meal
Lets give thanks as pilgrims did
They survived hard times
They left their homes full of hope
Enjoy fruits of first harvest.

This is part of Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 150 #SynonymsOnly

Hi this week Colleen Chesebro has given us the two prompts Trick and Treat. The magic twist is we cannot use those actual words, no we have to use them synonymously.

I have chosen a Shadorma this week, for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. A sad tale of lies, deception and mistreatment.

Deception

T’was ever

Such a deception

As when thou

Promised to

Do fair and handsome by me

Thou didst mislead so.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 144 #SynonymsOnly

This week Colleen has given us the prompt words Enchant and Fly. I have chosen to write a Shadorma for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

The title is Bewitched

You’re bewitched

Within her magic

Held under

Her love spell

Her charm makes your spirit soar

Born on wings of joy.

It’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

This week I have chosen to do a Nonet.

Our two words for this week are

Light & Dark

His soul was blacker than any night

Lost from the warmth of day was he.

Inocence,pure and bright she

Drawn together where they

Just like night and day

Opposite sides

Two faces

Yin and

Yan

Let’s come together

Welcome the poor of the world.

Arms wide, mouth gagged eyes shut

Colleen’s 2019 WeeklyTanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 131 SynonymsOnly

Look who’s back!

Yes at last our Fairy Queen of the synonyms is back. Safely ensconced in Arizona Colleen is ready to set us our Weekly Tuesday Tanka Challenge you can join in here.. It doesn’t have to be a Tanka though as long as it is a poem governed by syllables.

Today’s words to use synonymously are Beginning & Consume.

I have chosen to do a Nonet, one of my favourite forms of poetry.

In the beginning.

When it all started there were just two

All sparkly, wonderful and new.

They had eyes for eachother

Such joys to discover

Snake then wriggled in

Try this apple

It’s good, she

Ate, too

Late.

COLLEEN’S 2019 WEEKLY TANKA TUESDAY POETRY CHALLENGE NO.121,SLOW & WORK, SYNONYMSONLY

WELCOME TO COLLEEN’S TANKA TUESDAY!

Sorry I am late Colleen I have had another mad day. Finally I managed a Tanka.

Time.

Time creeps up on us

A leisurely assassin,

Unrushed to pass us

Like a steadily pasted chore

Sloth speed, caught up in the toil.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 120, “Cold & Storm,” #SynonymsOnly

This is my entry for Colleen Chesebro‘s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

Strangely the temperature dropped here and we had snow which I have a video here. My poem is an Etheree.

Deep Winter

Snow

Silent

Covering

All in silence

The tempest arrives

Freezing, chilling the ground

Squalls whipping up banks of

white

Blizzards persists temperatures

Dropping fast like falling mercury

Noses grow red tingling fingers and toes.
