WELCOME TO COLLEEN’S TANKA TUESDAY!

Sorry I am late Colleen I have had another mad day. Finally I managed a Tanka.

Time.

Time creeps up on us

A leisurely assassin,

Unrushed to pass us

Like a steadily pasted chore

Sloth speed, caught up in the toil.

Silent

Covering

All in silence

The tempest arrives

Freezing, chilling the ground

Squalls whipping up banks of

white

Dropping fast like falling mercury

Noses grow red tingling fingers and toes.

Always gathers up

The unknown, the hidden

With an air enigma

They entice, allure and beguile

They are a conundrum a puzzle

Bewitching all who look into their eyes.

The

Winters

Finally

Here, all other

Seasons now are spent

Nature secures her seeds

Deep away from winter’s chill

Her creatures sleep protected too

Whilst winter does her very best to freeze

Mother Nature sole caretaker of all.

The photo below is one I took.

Lets

Party

A bunch of

Years truly lived

A good life well used

Many experiences

To honour with happiness

Too vast to count. Bearing witness.

A life full to the brim with good things.

Do not be sad remember it with joy.

Colleen’s Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 110, “Pleasant &s Read,” #SynonymsOnly

This is my entry for Colleen Chesebro of The Fairy Whisper’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. This week my fast growing favourite form of poetry. The Etheree.

To

Imbibe

Of a book

Under a tree

Brings out such happy

And contented feelings

In me. Imagination

Running happy and free for me

Joyful pictures in my head I see

Comfortably I devour the words

Or

Infront

Of blazing

Flames, a drink in

Hand,devouring

Squiggles off of the page.

Brings such sweet enjoyment to

Me. I delight my mind running

Free. There are wonderful sights to see

Book in hand there’s no place I’d rather be.

Fear

In the

Deep crawling fear.

The ground freshly dug

From the inside up, out

Something has escaped but what

Fright tingles the spine, draining blood

Petrified at the sight of the hole.

Fear for the fate of your immortal soul.

Autumn Tanka.

Magic entwines me

As leaves fall softly around

Gold and red colours

Summer’s spirit invades me

As Autumn bewitches all.
