Here we are for another #TankaTuesday poetry challenge! Colleen asks “Are you ready for a theme prompt? Kerfe selected this month’s theme:”

This month’s theme is:

“Useful”

Yesterday and today I’ve hit a wall. At first I was worried but then I decided why worry as my father always said worry is not useful it is a waste of time and energy because it changes nothing. So I have written a three verse Abhanga. I know it’s not good but I used my brain and at least I tried. Better to try and fail than not to try at all. Thank you Dad.

What’s Useful

Eyes do more than just see
They’re windows to the soul
Some devour you whole
Eyes are useful

Hands can hold a baby
They help when there is need
Some give, some full of greed
Hands are useful.

Brains make our bodies work
They help us live out life
We choose success or strife
Brains are useful.

The child was born in winter, while all was encased in snow
Warm in heart and spirit , guarded by those who’d watched her grow.
Blossomed in the spring, flowered in the sun, gave of fruits in Autumn.

I chose to write an ETHEREE this week, my synonyms for Family are Clans and relations, and for peace, Tranquility and war free.

Family & Peace.(Synonyms)

We
Bluster
And bemoan
The shortcomings
Of extended clans
While calming the waters
Others raise fires with their fans.
Will things come to a bloody pass?
Or tranquility encompass us?
And so relations we will be, war free.

This week I have decided to write a Etheree using Trent MacDonald’s photo and David Ellis‘s words. I used glide, skimming and sailing for move and create and manufacture for make.

Glide through
Life, serene
Swanlike skimming
Not a ripple seen
Sailing through like a dream
Nothing betrays the madness
Created by my feet beneath
Autumn colours also manufacturer
A gentle serenity to fool all.
