Sunday Song lyric: Better get to living!

As much  as  it grieves  me  I  have  to  say  Dolly  Parton  writes  some  brilliant  songs  with so  much meaning! Well I fell in  love  with  this  little  ditty  then I  accidentally  found  this  young  man’s  version of  the  words! His interpretation  has  inspired  me on  and off  over  the  years  since I  found  it! so  please  enjoy!

“Better Get To Livin'”

People always comin’ up to me and askin’
“Dolly, what’s your secret?
With all you do, your attitude
Just seems to be so good
How do you keep it?”
Well, I’m not the Dalai Lama, but I’ll try
To offer up a few words of advice.

You better get to livin’, givin’
Don’t forget to throw in a little forgivin’
And lovin’ on the way
You better get to knowin’, showin’
A little bit more concerned about where you’re goin’
Just a word unto the wise
You better get to livin’.

A girlfriend came to my house
Started cryin’ on my shoulder Sunday evening
She was spinnin’ such a sad tale
I could not believe the yarn that she was weavin’
So negative the words she had to say
I said if I had a violin I’d play.

I said you’d better get to livin’, givin’
Be willing and forgivin’
Cause all healing has to start with you
You better stop whining, pining
Get your dreams in line
And then just shine, design, refine
Until they come true
And you better get to livin’.

Your life’s a wreck, your house is mess
And your wardrobe way outdated
All your plans just keep on falling through
Overweight and under paid, under appreciated
I’m no guru, but I’ll tell you
This I know is true.

You better get to livin’, givin’
A little more thought about bein’
A little more willin’ to make a better way
Don’t sweat the small stuff
Keep your chin up
Just hang tough
And if it gets too rough
Fall on your knees and pray
And do that everyday
Then you’ll get to livin’.

The day we’re born we start to die
Don’t waste one minute of this life
Get to livin’
Share your dreams and share your laughter
Make some points for the great hereafter.

Better start carin’
Better start sharin’
Better start tryin’
Better start smiling
And you better get to livin’…

Sunday Song Lyrics : Best Day of my life

This  week  my  Sunday  Song  Lyric  is  Best  Day  of  my Life, by American Authors. I really  love  this  song  because  it is  so  happy,  so  full of  hope  and it  always  fills  me full of hope! The  video

The  video  is  lovely  too. A  Nerdy  guy  meets  a  strange looking  ‘Creature ‘ they have a wonderful  night out  together. The  pair  do  all sorts  including  having  their photo taken  together. At  the  end of  the video  the  guy is on his  own sleeping  in  a bar… he  wakes up after looking  around  to  find himself  alone  he  assumes he  dreamt his  time  with  the  creature.   He  leaves  the  bar  and  the  barmaid  picks  up  th  photos  he  dropped  and  is  surprised  to  see  the  guy  with  a  strange  looking  creature!

AMERICAN AUTHORS LYRICS

 “Best Day Of My Life”

I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh [x2]
I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh [x2]

I’m never gonna look back
Whoa, I’m never gonna give it up
No, please don’t wake me now
(2, 3, 4)
Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife

I howled at the moon with friends
And then the sun came crashing in
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh [x2]
But all the possibilities
No limits just epiphanies
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh [x2]

I’m never gonna look back
Whoa, I’m never gonna give it up
No, just don’t wake me now

Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife

I hear it calling outside my window
I feel it in my soul (soul)
The stars were burning so bright
The sun was out ’til midnight
I say we lose control (control)

Oo-o-o-o-o

This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
Oo-o-o-o-o
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
This is gonna be, this is gonna be, this is gotta be
The best day of my life
Everything is looking up, everybody up now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
