Say we can

Say we can make this right

That we can escape endless night

Reignite the warmth of the sun

Revive mother nature before she’s done.

Say we can save the bees

So they can pollinate the flowers and the trees.

Please can we rehydrate the barron earth.

To somehow from this death bring about rebirth.

Say we can all live as one

Something we have never done

Let us work together it won’t be fun

We need to save the earth and sun.

Prompt for #SoCS July 7/18. Sup.

Sup, to sip to drink, old English, West Saxon. To raise a golblet to you lips and sup the wine. So her is a short Acrostic poem.

Sup.

Surrender to my charms

Unfill me of my nectar

Partake of me whole, sup me.

This is part of LindaGHill’s #SoCs.

Rules and Pingback Here.

So sup at the fountain of life and find joy.

 #SoCS June 30/18 Cheers.

At the moment we are in the middle of the 2018 Football World Cup. YAWN! Resistance is futile there is no escape. I can’t get away from it. Even sitting in the garden or walking the dog I can escape the Cheers or the groans of fans watching their TVs.

The weather at the moment is very hot so all the windows are open. So if England score there is an echoing affect of Cheers.

Well it’s not over yet but here is the best, IMHO, England Football Video ever!

Cheers is also an American TV show set in a Boston Bar of the same name.

Also Cheers is a drinking toast, a way of saying Hello, Goodbye and Thank You.

Okay I have rambled on long enough as I am not really in the mood for this today, why well I am not of good cheer, not cheerful, not feeling cheery!

This post is brought to you today as part of LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday, #SoCs.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Bug. Acrostic.

This is my entry for LindaGHill of Life in Progress’s #SoCs.

Our prompt this week is the word Bug use it anyway you like but enjoy.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 9/18

This week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt from LindaGHill is to: Start with a noun and then write about it whatever it is. Most important rule enjoy yourselves.

Rules and Pingback Here

I am using an abstract noun Fire. I have written a little poem it not very good but I am not on top form so sorry.

The photo is one I took.

Fire, from early discovery

There was no knowing what

An asset it would turn out to be.

Giver of heat to warmer of pot.

It can used as a light

Or a lead of direction

As a weapon in a fight

Treat a wound to stop infection.

We learned to harness it power

Fire heated water drove steam machinery

Boiled oil to repel raiders from a tower.

It can smelt gold to make finery.

Down through the years

Fire has been a great boon

Protecting man from animals he fears.

It keeps us warm and cosy in our room.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 2/18

This is my entry for LindaGHill‘s Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

Linda’s challenge this week is “Our favourite word, use it in the post, base a post on it or just write about it’s concept” most important have fun.

Rules and Pingback Here.

My favourite word is Celestial, I did want to do an Acrostic Nonet but you need ten letters to write one of those. So I decided to do an Acrostic, almost Nonet. Almost Nonet because celestial only has nine letters. Okay enough explanations here is my celestial poem.

CELESTIAL

Can you see the stars up above

Endlessly stretching universe

Light dies out like lost love

Each tiny spec a star

Solar or Lunar

Timeless they move

Infinite

All just

Light

With a marinade, me dust,

Toss a salad crispy and fresh

Fry some onions maybe some cheese

I was once running free

Now I am about to be your tea

So if you really must have your fill

Be nice , don’t just chuck me on the grill.

I am an empty

Vessel. I am just hollow

Devoid of a soul

In this dark void I wallow.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. One the Farm.

This week’s #SoCs from Linda of Life in Progress is an extra difficult one with s difference.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “on the farm.” Find a word that has a farm animal sound in it, i.e. sMOOth, and use it in your post. Bonus points if you include three or more. Have extra fun!

A sheep walked into the barn. To find the cows moving bales of hay around. “What is going on” asked the sheep “your making so much noise.” “Stop bleating said the cows “your upsetting the chickens.” “There is no need to be moody you are driving me barmy! I am off to talk to the donkeys on the bray.” said the sheep. Just then a turkey rushed in and shouted ” I have just seen a goblin outside!”

As the sheep left the barn he met a horse who said ” Hello I am your new neighbour!”

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Letters

This week Linda of A Life In Progress has given us the word Letter as our #SoCs prompt. Rules and Pingback here.

I used to love writing letters but even more I loved receiving them. Sadly nowadays the art of letter writing is dying, we are all too dependant on electronic mail and communication.

Acrostic Poem Letter

Long distances made smaller

Email or a mobile caller

Time was we only had paper and pens

To cross the miles between friends

Every letter on the page

Really spoke of love, news, even rage.
