Hopelessness

Where is she going and where has she been.

She is the most  hopeless soul you have ever seen

Why is she out there why so alone .

Does no one miss her, has she no loving home.

Where are her parents , her teachers and friends

Is this all that is left to her, is this hopelessness where she ends.

Out in all weather, aimless, sharing a bench with the old men in the park.

Scrounging for coffee and scraps of food at back doors of the restaurants after dark.

Her Mother’s boyfriend was too fond of her,her Mum to frightened or to busy to care

Her teachers uncaring didn’t notice the signs, her lost weigh and dull eyes, a sudden loss of all flair.

It all came to a head when her Mum found her with  HIM in bed.

Mum wouldn’t listen to a word that she said.

He had raped her, she had pleaded her case .

But her  Mum had screamed at her and then slapped her face

So now lost and lonely with no where to go

She wonders the big city her fears in full flow.

No one to love her no one to care she is homeless and helpless and underage.

Already she is changing , she has stolen for drink her life’s spiraling downward and her head’s full of rage.

Why had Mum not listened , why had Mum let him push her out

She lost and she is hopeless prey to demons and doubt………………….

So sorry Jamie.

Jamie has had enough he is not going to school today. Well he is leaving home all right, but he is running away. He has had enough of what mum’s new befriend wants him to do. And if home were not bad enough he is the butt of the jokes at school.

Jamie has had enough of listening for the footsteps up to his attic room or waking up at night to find mum’s new guy kneeling over him in the gloom. He tried to lock his door but the key got mislaid he tried to tell  his mum but she could not be swayed.

Jamie’s tired of finding  excuses not to go home he’d rather stay in town, even if it’s raining,  and roam. The teachers are not listening to what he’s trying to say they just dock him points because he is late each day. Jamie’s friends can’t understand why he no longer wants them round they don’t realize he does not that bloke taking  them down.

So Jamie heading off this bright September morn hoping he can find somewhere to sleep that’s dry and warm. Where is he going to go to what is he going to do. There must be some way to help him some one who can see him through. There are supposed to places and people to help out ………… so why has poor Jamie, slipped the net and been left, so sadly, out.

So sorry Jamie.
