#WRITEPHOTO – The Fisherman

KL Caley’s #writephoto.

For visually challenged writersthe image shows a long stretch of river with a bank at both sides. A Fisherman is present in the foreground his line cast out across the water.

The Fisherman – Image by KL Caley.

Sitting quietly reflecting on life
The fisherman escapes his strife.
Here he can, to himself be true.
Trees and sky reverse the view
As the river wends it’s way
From source to sea everyday.
Gentle daydreams float on by
From dawn to dusk the hours fly.
No matter if he bags a catch
It time not wasted, there’s just no match.

If We Were Having Coffee: Ships, Rivers and Returns

Hello  everyone  welcome  to  the garden  we have a marquee  and  heaters, all the garden  furniture  has  been washed  and  I have put out cushions for your  comfort.

Well what  do  you  think  shall  we  chance  it . Now  as  always  we have  tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

If we were having  Coffee: I would ask  you what  has been going on in your world this week, has  anything  deeply affected  you, have  you need a sympathetic ear, a shoulder to cry  on or  just  needed someone  to make  you laugh! If  yes  feel free to talk it out  here  with us. We will all help if  we can.

If we were having Coffee: I would  remind  you  that  there  are lots of  other  coffee mornings  all shared  and organized  By  Diana  and  Gene’O  over at,Part time monster

If  we  were having  coffee: I would  remind  you that  Paul  is  still holding court at Markbialzak’s blog
Everything is ready for you in the garden. Please enjoy. We  should  be back  to Normal  , whatever  normal is next  week!

If  we  were having  coffee :  I would  tell  you  that  I  have  been  away  with  the  hubby  on  on a  Rhine  cruise! I  have  to say  it  was way  above  my  expectations, to  be honest  I  was in  trepidation! I  am not  keen  on  water  and  I  do not like  like ships or  boats! The  thought of a sea  cruise  sends  me running  at  speed  for cover! Yet  this  cruise  down  the Rhine  was  calm  relaxed  and luxurious!

We really  had a  lovely  time   and  met  so  many  special  people , four in  particular  with  who  I hope  we  can keep in  contact  with.

More  cakes  anyone  I  hope I  have not  bored  you  with  my  photos ,  your  lucky  I only  showed  you  twelve I  took  hundreds!!

If  we were having  Coffee : Although  I  was  away  I  did try  to  post a little  something  everyday . A  thought,  an  idea or even  a  day  dream.  Monday  the  sunset  gave me inspiration  watching  the  sun  change  the colour of  the  river  as it  set (so it  seemed) We  went on  a tour  every day,  we visited  castles, in one I  saw  a rose  growing  by a door  that  gave  me  the idea  for  Thurdays post. Tuesday I reflected  in  the photo  and  on  the guides  …omg !

Wednesay  was  LindaGHill’s  One liner Wednesday, the  tour  guide  did  say  that  sentence  about  the  wolf  population ….. I  wrote  down  as it left  her lips!! Also  silent  Wednesday  that  was  easy  too  as  we had  so  much  to  see!

Friday  again  just  flowed  from  me  (  excuse  the pun)  acrostic  river , and  Suturday  was LindsGHill’s  SoCs , that  was  about  the people I  had  met  and  those  I  already  love.

If  we  were having  coffee : So today I  will  be rushing in  and out  having  a quick  word  there  and filling a  cup  up  here! Hoping  you  don’t  think  me  rude.  I  am trying  to  read  all  your posts,  there  are loads to read as I  did not  have a lot of  time  to  do  much on  Wordpress  as  the ship and  the real  world offered  so much to  experience  but I did try  when I  could  get  WIFI.

If  we  were having Coffee :  I  would  now  announce  that  it is  Garden Catch up  time…. I know , I know  but  we are  proud of  it!!

We did have a friend look after the garden

We  did  have a  friend  to  look  after  the garden  and  she watered  the  veg  plus a new Fusia  we  had  recently  bought ! We  knew  everything  else  would  survive! It  has  been very  hot  here  and in Europe   and  the gardens  are  crying  out for  a  rain  storm . Believe it or  not  right on cue  as  I write  this, a  light  rain  is  starting  to fall. ….. It’s  okay  if  it rains  tomorrow  I have  the ironing   to  do  and everything  is  washed  dried  and airing!!

Well as  I  said  I am  very  busy  this  week …. OH! I  hope  we  will be  back  to normal  by  next  Sunday!! and Paul  will be back  here, I have  missed  him!

Once  again I  thank  you  all for  visiting  me  and Paul  too  we love to  see you  and hear  what  you have to say  and  we hope  you will join us again next  week! Hugs  to you  all!

Do  all stay  and  be comfortable   we love  to see  you  all.

And of course  the

Where the River Flows

image

Where are you flowing to river, tell me.
I am running away to meet the sea.
Where did you start from and where will you end.
Up in the hills on the high moor is where my friend.
Out to Sea and past the horizon I shall flow free.
God bless you river as you pass me, off on your journey from source to Sea.

If We Were Having Coffee – Dec.14/2014 GUEST POST

                             HOLIDAY CHEER

Welcome to Willow’s weekly coffee and tea garden. My name is Paul and I’m happy to be here once again inside Willow’s home where it is nice and toasty, tending to your needs for a cuppa, and sweets. We’ve moved inside to beat the winter cold in the garden.Willow has fluffed the cushions and stared a blaze in the fireplace to make a cozy place to sit. I’d be pleased to bring a pot of whatever beverage you prefer – we have a wide range of teas and coffees to satisfy our world-wide readership. We can relax with a cuppa and calorie free electronic sweets while we discuss the affairs of the week both personal and/or worldwide. How has your week been?

In the spirit of the season, I found the following video over at LifeBuzz  it is Titled, He Asked 13 Homeless People What They Wanted For Christmas. Their Answers Made Me Feel Shallow. Gifts for the Homeless

This little video follows a gentleman as he asks many homeless people what they would like for Christmas and then provides it for them. It really speaks to the joy of giving and the meaning of Christmas. The looks on the faces of those to whom nothing has ever been given, is priceless. It did my heart good to watch.

Let me pour you a cuppa of your favourite beverage and have a sweet while you enjoy it as well. So the temperatures have been dropping over the last week or so and it has snowed twice and the snow has stayed down. All this gets me to thinking about skating at the canal and eating those delicious Beaver Tails. Speaking of sweets, here’s some that I bet you haven’t seen before, Beaver Tails:

Beaver Tails with various Chocolate Fillings

These delicious hot pastries are fried dough covered with powdered sugar and filled with the topping of your choice – jam, chocolate, fruit, etc. (For scale – each Beaver Tail pictured above is about twice as long as your hand and about 1 1⁄2 times as wide). They are sold through out the winter at kiosks in and around Ottawa. Primarily Beaver Tails are sold on the Rideau Canal Skating rink. This is actually the largest maintained skating rink in the world, comprising over 4.5 miles (7 kms) of canal skating in the city of Ottawa from Downtown to Dow’s Lake. The canal is open for skating usually by January and stays open until early March. The length of the season depends on the temperature and can run anywhere from 45 days to 90 days. It is free and has changing/warm up rooms, food kiosks, washrooms, etc – all on the ice. You can see the little cluster of buildings with services under the bridge in the picture. There are a number of these clusters all along the Canal.

The night time skating is amazing and a real feast for the eyes.

That’s about all we have room for this week, so it’s time to settle in front of the fireplace with another cuppa. Sweets anyone? – we can even have the kitchen make you some Beaver Tails if you wish. Willow and I are honored that you dropped by today to visit. I hope you’ve enjoyed yourself and the conversation and please feel free to look around at Willow’s other posts while you’re here. Have a great week. We look forward to seeing you here for tea again next week.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would ask you if you would  like another  cuppa, or  another cake . !   If we were having Coffee  Original idea  from  http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/

Drowning

Running through the tunnel, afraid of my own shadow

I can’t breath  this place is dark and  so narrow.

I hear the river on the other side of the wall

she is whispering  and to me I hear her call.

She’s after me I know, if I trip she’ll catch me as I fall.

She is flowing , flowing  her powers growing, growing

Fingers rippling , rippling reaching out for me

Please don’t let her catch hold of me or I shall never again be free.

I hear her she is seeping through the walls

in my ears her voice, as my name she calls

My lungs hurt with heaving.  I am lost

I need to escape   but freedom comes at a cost.

Here she comes flowing fast around my feet,

I am exhausted now she has hold of me now I am beat.

Slowly now she is flowing up my body there is no point to fight

I give in, I give up she has won. I release you soul hurry take flight.

She is flowing , flowing  her powers growing growing

Fingers rippling , rippling reaching out for me

Please don’t let her catch hold of me or I shall never again be free.
