The Retreat – Image by KL Caley.

Dinner over, Morgana sat on the sofa cigarette in one had and a Bacardi and coke in the other T.V. on , her eyes were feeling rather heavy, all that screen work she thought to herself as she drifted off.
Morgause relieved her of her drink and cigarette and covered her with the fleecy blanket she had taken out of the toy box and slipped a hot water bottle next to her to keep her cosy. Merlin looked up from the floor where he was surrounded by wrapping paper and asked. “Oh! is Morgs a tad tired give her a shove I fancy a game of charades.”
“No” relied Morgause “she’s exhausted, she had to work really hard sorting that frozen virus it took her ages” Stepping away from her sleeping sister she took a drag of the cigarette, this made her cough “goodness knows what she sees in these things” she said throwing it into the fire, she then took a large swig of the Bacardi, “That’s better” she said sitting down next to Merlin, “let’s play”.

Morgana was fast be asleep as Morgause and Merlin played charades. She was exhausted but her brain was not relaxed enough to sleep peacefully so she drifted into a dream.
She found herself standing on some decking by a pond surrounded by twinkling fairy lights. It was winter and a tad chilly, so she made her way towards what looked like a cosy lodge type building.

Inside it was warm and cosy. Morgarna curled herself up in a huge armchair by the fire. A handsome waiter asked if he could get her anything. She asked him for a hot chocolateand Brandy.

a warm cosy fire
chocolate to kill the chill
and warm the spirit.

Now Morgana fell into a deep sleep, content and happy. In her mind she was in a cosy retreat safe from any jobs Merlin might have up his sleeve or any tricks her mischievous sister might be about to play on her. This was bliss the perfect place to rest.

“Get off me ” Someone was shaking Morgana she opened her eyes expecting to see the cosy surroundings she had fallen asleep in. Instead Merlin and Morgause were looking at her.
“Come on sleepyhead you’ve had a couple of hours kip. We’re off to the pub for a lock in and you’re coming too.” Merlin smiled, “You can’t sleep all Christmas!”
“Are we going in your car” asked Margarna sleepily. “No we are not” replied Merlin “I’ve only just got it fixed after you trashed it for me!”
Reluctantly Morgana dragged her mind back to the reality she was living in at the moment, put on some lippy, lit a cigarette and said, “okay let’s get this party started! “

Happy Days

What to do what to say
Could my cares of blown away.
The sun is happy in the sky of azure blue
It is warming all we see and do.

image

The birds are singing the lizards run
We are having breakfast in the sun.

Voices chatting accent’s new
All discussing where and what to do.

image

Cappuccino, espresso even tea
And of course (brown water) americano for me.

Charming hosts fabulous food
Such beautiful room and furniture nothing brash or crude.

So relaxed and happy too
It all seems too good to be true .
I wish I could take it home
Never a again to feel sad or alone.
HAPPY DAYS. !

Time Out

Peace and quiet

I had to take some time out. I had to have some peace. Things in my life needed facing, sorting so I could find release.

I was away and I was out there living in the world.Facing up to life coping with the good and bad that life has decided my way to hurl.

Back now and able ( I really hope I am) to cope with my real life and this, my favoured one.

There are so many poems and mails for me to read, I am trying hard to do so and I swear I shall succeed.

So if I do not comment, my dear friends on your posts I hope you will forgive  me and remain my genial hosts. I am reading  through all your work I love to see it on my screen . I may not comment much until I catch up but I am getting through your posts you know I am really keen!

LEAVE ME WHERE I AM

Beyond my dreams

Sun, warm upon my skin as I woke from sleep I felt zing, a tingle climbing from my feet seeping up through me to my mouth , a taste so sweet.

Slowly I became aware of my surroundings, beautiful, strange, but how did I get here. It seemed I was in a fairy dell with lacy ivy dressed with silver dew and an enchanted smell.

I stood amid a ruined building that unto a great forest was yielding. The light was streaming in through open doors and windows, portals warming up the grassy floors.

These are not my clothes. I have never had dressed like this , own this dress? I wish!

my dress? I wish!

I wish! Looking up I see the sun and feel as though my life has just begun. Forget the past and all that is real. This my new life this is how I want to feel. I never want to return to the rat run that was my life an invalid, mother and wife.

This is where I ought to be, perfect, peaceful, beautiful me.No I would rather stay here the it is easier than the other place OH! this is so beautiful , gentle happy I feel no fear. It is simple it is clear, I am safe and warm I shall stay here.

As I walk the sweetest scent of flowers dance around my nose, I hear running water outside where a gentle stream flows. I stoop to pick the pretty flowers suddenly I feel sad I know this place is not real but this is the best time I have ever had.

So please don’t wake me , leave me where I am. I’ll come back when I have to.
