“Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)” (Japanese title: “手をとりあって”, te o toriatte) is a song by Queen from their 1976 album A Day at the Races. Written by guitarist Brian May, it is the closing track on the album.
The song is notable for having two choruses sung entirely in Japanese, and it was released as a single exclusively in Japan, reaching #49 on the charts. (The B-side was “Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy“.) This song features a plastic piano and harmonium, both of which are played by May. They brought in a local choir to sing the chorus at the end. On the album, the song is crossfaded to a one-minute instrumental featuring a Shepard tone melody, which is actually a reprise of the beginning of the album.
in 1978 I was a busy mum but I always had time to be entertained by Queen and they really did entertain didn’t they. The song title has Entertain in the title band Show and Entertain in the lyrics.

Jazz is the seventh studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 10 November 1978 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker, the album artwork was suggested by Roger Taylor, who previously saw a similar design painted on the Berlin Wall. The album’s varying musical styles were alternately praised and criticised. It reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and number six on the US Billboard 200.

Then the same year I fell in love with the Lloyd Webber/Rice music for Evita. Circus and Show in title and lyrics
“Oh What a Circus” is a song from the 1976 musical Evita, which had lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It was recorded by English singer David Essex and released as a single on August 19, 1978, by Mercury Records. Essex played the character of Che in the original London production of the musical, and the song is sung from his point-of-view. Produced and arranged by Mike Batt, “Oh What a Circus” is a mid-tempo song, comparing the musical’s title character Eva Perón‘s life with a circus, and calling her actions fraudulent. The song is a contrafactum, and shares its tune with the better known “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from the same show.
“Oh What a Circus” was a commercial success for Essex, who had been dropped by his previous record company due to his declining sales. The song reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and the top-30 in Belgium and Netherlands. In subsequent productions of the musical, “Oh What a Circus” has been sung by numerous performers, including Mandy Patinkin, Ricky Martin and Scottish rock musician Marti Pellow. In the 1996 film adaptation of the show, the song was sung by Antonio Banderas and American singer Madonna, and received critical appreciation for its flamenco-infused composition.
“Oh What a Circus” was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice while they were developing the Evita as a musical in between 1974 and 1976. Rice was extremely intrigued by the stories surrounding the life of Eva Perón while researching her during the mid-1970s. The duo were also on the lookout for various actors to play the part of the narrator for Evita.
Oh what a circus! Oh what a show! Argentina has gone to town Over the death of an actress called Eva Peron We’ve all gone crazy Mourning all day and mourning all night Falling over ourselves to get all of the misery right Oh what an exit! That’s how to go! When they’re ringing your curtain down Demand to be buried like Eva Peron It’s quite a sunset And good for the country in a roundabout way We’ve made the front page of all the world’s papers today But who is this Santa Evita? Why all this howling hysterical sorrow? What kind of goddess has lived among us? How will we ever get by without her? She had her moments–she had some style The best show in town was the crowd Outside the Casa Rosada crying, “Eva Peron” But that’s all gone now As soon as the smoke from the funeral clears We’re all going to see how she did nothing for years!Salve regina mater misericordiae Vita dulcedo et spes nostra Salve salve regina Ad te clamamus exules filii Eva Ad te suspiramus gementes et flentes O clemens o piaYou let down your people Evita You were supposed to have been immortal That’s all they wanted Not much to ask for But in the end you could not deliverSalve regina mater misericordiae Vita dulcedo et spes nostra Salve salve regina Peron Ad te clamamus exules filii Eva Ad te suspiramus gementes et flentes O clemens o piaSource: Musixmatch

Now for a bonus track :Brittany Spears Circus. Circus in title and lyrics also Circus, Show and Entertain in Lyrics.
.
“Circus” is a song by American singer Britney Spears. It was released on December 2, 2008, through Jive Records as the second single from her sixth studio album of the same name (2008). Written by Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and Benny Blanco, “Circus” is a metaphor for the public’s perception of Spears’ life. After she listened to the track for the first time, she felt inspired to create an album and a tour with a circus theme. “Circus” is an uptempo electropop and dance-pop song with elements of pop rock and “half-rapped” vocals. The song’s lyrics talk about being an entertainer and putting on shows.

Well Jim Adams has given us another excellent prompt for Song Lyric Sunday this week. : This week we have the somewhat different prompt of finding a song that includes a number and hopefully this will work out for us. Take some time to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this music challenge, as you will.
So I decided not to go with all my favourites, like Five For Fighting, 100yrs, or Christina Perri 1000years, or Zager and Evans in the year 2525. No not even 99 Red Balloons by Nena
I am going with one I have done before a favourite from James Blunt and one from from Queen. First 39 written and lead sang by Brian May. I have always loved this song so much, don’t know why but I just do. It was recorded in 1975 the year my second son was born.
“‘39” is a song by British rock band Queen. Composed by lead guitarist Brian May, it is the fifth track on their fourth studio album A Night at the Opera. The song was also the B-side to “You’re My Best Friend“. The song relates the tale of a group of space explorers who embark on what is, from their perspective, a year-long voyage. Upon their return, however, they realise that a hundred years have passed, because of the time dilation effect in Einstein‘s special theory of relativity, and the loved ones they left behind are now all dead or aged. more information here.
“1973”
Simona You’re getting older Your journey’s been Etched on your skin Simona Wish I had known that What seemed so strong Has been and gone
I would call you up every Saturday night And we’d both stay out ’til the morning light And we sang, “Here we go again” And though time goes by I will always be In a club with you In 1973 Singing “Here we go again”
Simona Wish I was sober So I could see clearly now The rain has gone Simona I guess it’s over My memory plays our tune The same old song
I would call you up every Saturday night And we’d both stay out ’til the morning light And we sang “Here we go again” And though time goes by I will always be in a club with you in 1973 Singing “Here we go again”

Always loved this one too, I was living in Devon in 1973 when this song was set. Just had our first son.
1973” is a song by the English recording artist James Blunt. It was released as the lead single from his second studio album, All the Lost Souls (2007). Hi it’s Sunday again and time once more for Song Lyric Sunday. Our host Jim Adams has set us the prompt of: Bird/Fly/Sky/Wing.
My first thought was Gorge Harrison, my favourite Beatle taking the lead with his song Blue Jay Way. I do believe that is where he stayed for a while in the Hollywood Hills.
“Blue Jay Way”
Written by George Harrison.
There’s a fog upon L.A.,
And my friends have lost their way.
“We’ll be over soon,” they said.
Now they’ve lost themselves instead
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long for I may be asleep
Well, it only goes to show
And I told them where to go
Ask a policeman on the street
There’s so many there to meet
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long for I may be asleep
Now it’s past my bed I know
And I’d really like to go
Soon will be the break of day
Sitting here in Blue Jay Way
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long for I may be asleep
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long
Please don’t be long
Please don’t you be very long
Please don’t be long
Don’t be long, don’t be long, don’t be long
Don’t be long, don’t be long, don’t be long Lyrics from A to Z Lyrics
This is one of my favourites from that era 1976. This song is definitely one of their very best. I was 26 years young, married with two children. If I was tired it gave me a lift, it I was sad it helped me, if I was plain stressed it relaxed me! My two older boys grew up on a diet of Queen even when they were in the womb the last lad to a lesser extent but they all know and appreciate Queen.
Brilliant song all about searching for answers to questions that make up our lives.
“Lily Of The Valley”
I am forever searching high and low But why does everybody tell me no Neptune of the seas Have you an answer for me please And the lily of the valley doesn’t know
I lie in wait with open eyes I carry on through stormy skies I follow every course My kingdom for a horse But each time I grow old Serpent of the Nile Relieve me for a while And cast me from your spell and let me go
Messenger from Seven Seas has flown To tell the King of Rhye he’s lost his throne Wars will never cease Is there time enough for peace But the lily of the valley doesn’t know.
Today for our Song Lyric Sunday Prompt, Helen Vahdatihas given us the word Unity to play with.
Now the prompt unity was very kindly suggested to Helen by Felicia Denise.
Well I had to go with Queen One Vision . I have all Queen’s Music and boy does this one fit the bill. It was released as a single in November 1985 and then included on their 1986 albumA Kind of Magic. It was originally conceived byRoger Taylor
The words are in the video.
It’s wonderful I love it!

And because it’s Mother’s Day here is my Mum again.
Ritu said : “Nothing too serious or tedious.Just a chance to share some songs! If you fancy posting a song for any reason this March, tag it #musicalmarch
So today is Day 11 of #musicalmarch and here is my best fun moment of all time.
Queen did a concert after dearest Freddy’s death and had Elton John and Axile Rose 🌹 singing sections of the song, along with Freddy’s voice singing part of it too.
Elton and Queen had no idea what Axile Rose was going to do because Axile being Axile refused to rehearse at all. So it was a fabulous surprise when he burst on to the stage like a whirling Dervish and stole the show, even at the end he stole the show by taking Elton’s hand and walking to the front of the stage with him. Just beautiful! Watch for Axils’s fantastic entrance at about 3 minutes thirty on the video. It is just fabulous.xxxxx
I have always loved Queen from the very first time I heard them sing The Seven Seas Of Rye. I have every single Album they ever made and my one huge regret is that I never saw them live!
Lily of the Valley is off of their Sheer Heart Attack Album :
Sheer Heart Attack was the third studio album by British rock band Queen, released in November 1974. It was produced by the band and Roy Thomas Baker and distributed by EMI in the United Kingdom, and Elektra in the United States.
Why do I love this track so much? It reminds me of my life … I am forever searching high and low! I never find the answers.
