Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 158 #PhotoPrompt

Hi everyone it’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. It’s the middle of the month challenge ~ time for a photo prompt! This month we will use a photo chosen by last month’s “Photo-Prompt” Poet of the Week ~ Merril D. Smith.

I have chosen to do an etheree. I looked up the photo. It discribed as a flower on a piece of areogel which is protecting the flower from a Bunsen burner. I see my soul as the flower, the areogel as my Guardian Angel, and the Bunsen burner as the sins of the world.

My

Soul held

In your care

Shielded with love

From the fires of hell

You keep me safe from sin

My beloved guardian

However intense the danger

Your wings keep me safe from the world’s harm

You care for me and I bathe in your calm.

The Storm.

Don’t worry the child whispered to the tree.

I shall keep you safe , you’ll not be harmed  if you stay with me.

The lightening flashed and the rain fell. Out to sea ships were tossed on the foamy swell.

It was such a dark and starless night the child could see that the tree was suffering  from fright.

All around the the winds were shaking up the hills and whipping up the lakes and streams so that they were over flowing their banks and having little spills.

Thunder crashed and lightening lit the skies the child hugged tight the tree and closed her eyes.

Please dear friend, tree, she was heard to say. I shall not let go of you until this ghastly night is through, and this storm is gone away.

Of a sudden the tree was struck by lightening flash, it buckled and bowed and then to the ground it crashed. Sadly flattening beneath it’s weight the tiny child who lovingly had promised to keep it safe.

Darling , darling  tree fear not fear not I am still with thee………..

I am the eyes and the heart of the ship. I always have the future in my sight . I have the men of this vessel in my keep and I watch over them by day as they work and by night as they sleep.

I am their protection their safe haven I show them the way to go, I carry them, I guide them. I am to be trusted and this they know.

The rain and the hail always hit me first the waves crash across me sometimes it is a curse. I am adored and loved by my crew and as long as they protect, polish and love me for them there is nothing I would not do.

I am their magic protector and with me they are safe I shall carry them soundly through tempest and storm. They will be safe wrapped in my tender embrace. At night I shall rock them gently through the mountainous waves I shall glide them until the fresh and calm morn.

I am the first  to arrive at safe harbour I am the first to leave. I am the eyes and the heart of this ship I am the one to be thanked for the gifts my crew receive.
