The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 3/2020

Shelley Krupa

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “new/old.” Use either or both of the words “new and old” any way you’d like. Bonus points for starting and ending with either one. Have fun!

News hit my email that made me sad. Though it was not other than my I might of expected yet I am railing against it. Nothing new, age old it’s the circle we all go through no one and nothing lives forever.

I tossed and turned and in my dreams I was lost on a journey on a train. Again nothing new about that, it seems I am forever lost. I awoke ever hour on the hour, same old scared feeling. Life goes on until it stops. None of this makes sense.

New Life brings new hope

Old nightmares retreat quietly

Souls never grow old.

EvDaDaDEC. Not a Bad Bloke

It is cold  and fresh outside and the lawns  a white and crisp and even

The sands of time are running out for the old year. It’s packed and ready for the leavin’

Christmas has been and gone with all of it’s bluster  and show and  we have left behind the feast of Stephen.

Sadness is hangin’ round suspended in these nowhere days, the new years’s on it’s way so why the grievin’

We all move slowly, zombie like ,betwixt and between the old and the new.

Doing  as we are bid shop, shop  get to the sales . You need something to do.

The past is stretched out lazily idly playing  with your head. Push it off Shooo!

Approaching fast  from the future the come the new bringing hope and all that  will ensue.

Greedily   stocking up are energy and hope full of ideas and readiness to cope.

Come  now shake off the lethargy of  the old stretch yawn , don’t mope!

You can’t  stop this anyway we are all on the precipice about to fall down the slippery slope

So embrace the old, give him a hug at least you know him. Raise a glass in farewell he’s not a bad bloke!

EvDaDaDec : Out with the old in with the New

Okay time  to pull myself up  by  my boot lace

Paint  the smile of make up on  my face

Out with the old in with the New

Sorry  dear friends  for casting  my worries on  you.

The old year  tired and worn  is slowly packing its bag.

Lets not detain it, it’s course is run.  Raise it’s cloak to ease  the drag.

The world is waiting  for the New Year , though why I am not sure

Nothing magical ever happen’s, nothing changes. Yet wait  here comes Hope a knocking at  the door.
