#TANKA TUESDAY Weekly #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 209, Last challenge of 2020

Good morning and welcome to Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. Colleen said : “For the LAST poetry challenge of 2020, I want you to write a poem about hope, using your favorite poetry form (it doesn’t have to be syllabic). Please make these poems inspirational to others.

No negativity and No politics! We’ve all had enough politics to last us another lifetime.

After you’ve written your poem, tell us why the specific form you chose is your favorite. Why does that form resonate with you? If it’s a new form, teach us how to write that specific form.

I’ll stop by and comment throughout the week as time allows. There will be NO recap post on Monday, January 4, 2021. Make sure and visit the other participant’s post through Mr. Linky or from the ping-backs on the challenge post.

Tanka Tuesday will resume on January 18, 2021.”

New Year New Hope

Harvengers of hope and light arrives
Open the doors for their entry
Praise the welcome gifts with joy
Enter the new year now
Full of confidence
Undo all ills
Let ties of
Love bind
You.

Today I have chosen my two favourite forms of poetry, the Nonet and the Acrostic Poem . This is an Acrostic Nonet. I love the way these two disaplines concentrate the mind. When put them together I feel I have achieved a small triumph.

Be blessed and safe everyone happy New Year.

LOVE IS IN DA BLOG: TUSCAN NONETS

Just Fooling around with Bee says: “It is Thursday which we celebrate and dedicate to places we love. It is entirely up to you how you create this post: write a story, poem, take a photo, link to a page… anything goes as long as it is connected to a place you love”

Narrow alleys  where  peIMG_5785ople meet

Fields of golden Sunflowers

We drive through them for hours

Walled towns amazing views

Warm breeze no blues

Five Photos Five Stories: Ivy : Nonet

wpid-img_20150610_085921536_hdr.jpgCaressing  and  suckling  close, tendrils

Draping  over  stone like spirals.

Green like Mother  Earth she   clings

Eternal winter sings.

Slowly choking out

All life. No doubt

She is keen

Leaves green

My second  nomination goes to markbialczak

Thanks again to  This  thing  called  life. One  step  at time    for nominating me for the challenge.

Not the A to Z April Challenge : Guardian Angels

Guardian Angel

A true Guardian Angel  is he

Working hard  to protect little me

All good  things  I  gain from thee

Angel you have saved me

She  is  new who’s she

Her  job to care

For  the  new

Life in

Guardian Angel

BATZAP

Being a wooze!

Both sides

It  is  my  own fault  I did not  have  the  nerve  to  sign up  for  the  April A to Z Challenge ! But  I  could  not let  it  go,  one  part  of  me   said (  quite rationally )  you have  enough  to be coping  with , don’t  put  yourself under pressure while  the  other  part of  me  was screaming  you  wooze  you  lazybones   you have  to do it ! The  latter  part of  me  shouts louder and much  more  harshly  than the  sensible  side!

So  here I am Not  doing  the  A to Z  April  Challenge! Everyday   except Sunday I  shall post  a Nonet, yes I  have decided  to  use  the Nonet for  my  non  entry’s!  A Nonet is a nine line poem. The first line containing nine syllables, the next line has eight syllables, the next line has seven syllables. That continues until the last line (the ninth line) which has one syllable. Nonets can be written about any subject. Rhyming is optional.

I  do apologize  to  those  who  have  organized  this  event  and  those participating  …. I  reading  those  that I  know of …. But I an  a wooze. The  louder  braver  part of  me is urging me on  and  telling  me  that  next  year I  must  join up  and  brave up!!

So good  luck  to everyone involved and I hope  you don’t  mind  we tagging  along unofficially!

Nonnets to the window of the soul.

Deep dark and soulful ready to drown you.

Mocking or praising which is true.

Almond pools unfathomable deep.

Probe your dreams as you sleep.

Trace their line of  sight

Outline times flight.

The Window

Of the

Soul

Mystery holds  no questions for you

Seen the future  and it’s cover blew .

You see the horror of man

War, lies. Worms in the can.

Abuse sullies  you

Ruined, spoilt you.

Sad window

To the

Soul
