Today a child is born.

Irena got there first a huge smile on her face,

Happy to be doing her real job, even if it was in a strange place.

She could not believe the sight that met her eyes,

There was a cat and a dog and the lady from up the way and doves covered the skies.

Well she thought we can’t move her now she will have to give birth here in the gazebo!

It felt so good to be wearing her blues again, Jo was flapping quietly rubbing Mares’ back pretending he was in control…. but that was all in vain!

Anya arrived she almost hurdling the bushes, how are things going she asked Irena, who smiled replied you have made it for the pushes.

So between the three of them a little babe was born. It was strange it took all night but some how it did not not seem long

Annya cool and calm

Mares seemed so calm , in fact she was serene,

Anya was amazed and told Irena for a “first time mum” she was the calmest she’d ever seen.

There seemed to be so many people there, angels people later said,

With golden flowing hair and bright rings around their heads.

The pets from up the road and the lady too,

Shepherds arrived with their sheep they all wanted to be there too.

It all seemed so surreal Oh! was it a dream.

Here in the gazebo with doves and sheep and things!!

The star above the hotel began to burn so bright it turned the scented garden and gazebo into a haven of light.

And so the babe is born.

The first day of the new dawn.

This child has come to lead the way to take us to a better day.

The shepherds brought their sheep

As gifts to the young king and his parents in love to keep.

Josh has bought his friendship band he placed it in the baby’s hand.

The children offered up the paper chain they had made with Mares and she in turn has kissed them all and blown away their cares.

On their way towards the hotel Delph in a limousine our three wise men are approaching fast they want to warn Jo again and fast.

But for now all is light and all is love as the star shines down from heaven above, born for us this day our saviour to wash our sins away.

Mary and Jo part 7

The shepherds recovering unsure of what they had just seen,

The stunning angel with the strange message. She’d looked like a beauty Queen.

They fed the sheep then headed for the town.

Whatever it was they obviously part of what was going down.

The star was still shining, you could see it from here .

None of them sure of what any of it meant

That angel could only of been heaven sent.

Mares and Jo were both asleep,

Angels had them safe within their keep.

Not to mention the staff of the Hotel Delph,

Everyone there was wishing this special couple good health.

At night the new star shone up above

And during the day from no where came the dove.

In the town there was a buzz

What was all the fuss.

Something new was happening.

Not like the new style, or the new look

This would be important , this would make a book!

Winging towards them the three magi.com checking their charts and computers nothing must go wrong.

They all agreed they did not trust Herod.com

There was something about him that was not quite right,

The way he had questioned them into the night.

The men on the plane had gifts on their mind.

They had brought some for the child, of the most special kind.

Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold , well it is a change from a babygrow or a coat to keep him safe from the cold.

So now we have magi.com following their star.

And the shepherds on their way from near and far.

We have angels and doves and an child who will be born to a gentle mother mild.

Mary and Jo Day 18

Coora, coora said the dove

I bring light and I bring love.

Such was the light that fell around

Lighting each pebble and grain of sand illuminating all around.

It was strange the Hotel Delph

Usually a place of wealth,

Had shepherds their sheep

Ordinary folk wanted the babe to meet.

Mares and Jo bathed in gentle light

Resting in the gazebo after a busy night.

Swaddled tightly, in his arms Jo held his baby for now safe from harm.

Here within this baby’s heart

Is the blessed grace to give us a new start.

All the people, strangers to one another,

had all had invited to greet the new Child here with his father and mother.

The Dove descends and comes to rest

Near where these new parents have made their nest.

Gentle angels from heaven above

Look down upon this scene of love.

Stragglers come from far and wide,

The Ox, a dog a cat and many others beside.

They all have gifts to give to this child who as a man will die so we can live.

A small group hover outside embarrassed by their pride, they have nothing to bring to give to the baby king.

A beautiful angel approaches them and asks why they wait , they explain they no gift .

The Angel says they have a gift

To offer prayers and their souls uplift.

Anya and Irene cannot believe their eyes

They delivered this babe and heard it’s birth cries

Is this really where they work

With all this light and people

How transformed this mean courtyard does appear.

Still some way off along the road

Our three wise men near with their precious load, of gold,

Frankincense and myrrh to worship a the baby’s feet

And gentle Jo and Mares to meet.

Just for now we watch this strange scene

Farm animals, and the insects all clearly seen, mix and mingle with family pets and lots of humans lets not forget.

This must truly be the Messiah

In every soul here tonight burns a fire of love and truth and sacrifice …

The cats are just ignoring the mice,

No pushing no shoving all is calm

Like the baby’s breathing in Jo capable arms.

Maddona and Child

Mary and the child. The picture !

And so the boy was a year old , and what a beauty he was to behold. Olive skin like his mothers and father’s and dark knowing eyes, a gentle knowing child who smiles constantly and hardly ever cries. To touch him was a joy, to see him watching life unfurl around him, such a knowing boy.

Where did you get that picture asked Joe as he came through the door, it is so unusual I have never seen anything so exotic before.I know said Mary it is so very different that is why I chose it. So different to us yes, yet the love is there to be seen and boy knows, Joe,he chose it.

Three days now Joe and he will be one a whole year old. A year of love and happiness brought to us by our son, he has taught us so much, just like Gabriel foretold.  . Do you remember the hotel and how everyone helped we stayed in the porter’s room, the visitors we had.  How relaxed it all felt.

Shall we have a party for our beautiful boy to thank so much for bringing us such joy.

Remembering the day

Last year I rewrote the Christmas story set in modern times and I hope some of you enjoyed watching how the story unfolded with help from the most unexpected places and strange visitors.

This is their story a year on the baby has brought them so much joy. Mary has just hung a new painting.

Mary and Jo part8

the children were whispering

The children were whispering, whispering the good news. They would go and visit soon in groups and maybe ones and twos! They were excited at the whisper of the imminent new birth they knew he was different but as yet they did not know his worth.

The adults were intrigued some of the teachers even got rather peeved no one was paying attention in class and all you got out of them was this story if you had a chance to ask? The grown ups should of listened more, but that is the grown ups’ way. They really should of listened as the children had so much of importance to say.

whispering the news

The children of the staff at the Hotel Delph had been the first to know a king was to be born. Yet not a king of worldly worth.

The grown ups tried to hide them from the children’s stare  but when Mares and Jo saw the children they were happy for them to be there. The staff thought this was lovely, yes it really was just great free child care all day everyday even if it was short term, especially at zero rate.

Now I know this may seem rather funny and I know it is not nice  but all the cockroaches , the rats and tiny mice all decided that while Mares and Jo were there they would disappear. The cleaners were delighted and so were the cooks they could not believe the fact that every where was sparkling every cranny and every nook.

fending off queries from herod.com

Our three astronomers where comfortable on their plane and Balthasar was fending off  herod.com again. This guy is becoming a nuisance this guy is bad for sure the way he had made them give their word they would inform him of their findings, and lay it at his door.

There was something unclean about him, something hard and mean they all thought that they would not do business or have dealings with him again!

Meantime at Herods office in Judia of all places, he was actually the guy who wanted everyone’s taxes and to know of all male births maybe now you can fill in the spaces. As I was saying at Herods’ HQ things were hotting up he decided to send spies out far and wide he did not want a new king who could get the populous on his side!

Back in David’s room, Mares and Jo were holding court the children had all brought their pets and Mares was delighted at what they had brought. There were dogs and cats and mice even a gerbil too and believe it or not a tiny pig I kid you not, it is true.
