#TankaTuesday #Ekphrastic #Poetry Challenge No. 308, 2/21/23

This #TankaTuesday challenge explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.

Colleen nsays :”I’m fascinated by fine art. Much of my newfound knowledge of art comes from Rebecca Budd’s blog, Chasing Art.com/blog. Many thanks to Rebecca for the inspiration.

This painting was featured on Rebecca’s post: PORTRAIT OF LADY AGNEW OF LOCHNAW BY JOHN SINGER SARGENT

You will definitely want to read Rebecca’s post. It’s full of wonderful information!

(Find more of John Singer Sargent’s paintings on National Galleries Scotland).”

This week, using the painting as your inspiration, please write either a syllabic poetry form or a freestyle poem, including a syllabic form (both poetry forms on the same post).

REMEMBER… don’t just describe the woman… we can all see her. Like all of us, this woman has a story. Write THAT poem…

This is a Lanterne Poem .

The view.

I
Watch you
Approaching
My blood boils in
Me.

My
Eyes watch
You undress
They beckon you
On.

Now
You see
Me sitting
Are you startled
No

Your
Naked
Body show
The excitement
Felt.

You
Take me
My dress falls
Crumpled and torn
Spent

Ronovan Writes Decima Challenge Image
You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt of (CHIRP and Twilight). and this Décima Challenge of SHOCK in the D rhyme lineThis means you could write a haiku post using the prompt words. Then do a Décima post using this week’s prompt uniting the two with a common message. Here is a link to my Haiku.
The 2 CHALLENGES are SEPARATE but CAN BE combined if YOU CHOOSE to do so. I choose to combine them.

As twylight falls he comes to me
His cold touch stirs my broken soul.
Lust begs he devour me whole.
Grateful we share Mortality.
We’re coupled for eternity.
Willingly I bend to his will.
He draws blood I enjoy it still.
Bodies joined in macabre dance.
Pleasuring each other we prance.
In ecstasy our screams are shrill.

I yearn for his touch
As the sweet twylight descends
Hear the bats chirp

Ronovan Writes Decima Challenge Image
It is Wednesday and time for Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Déima challenge. Ron said “You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt of (BOUND and Sway). and this Décima Challenge of BASH in the D rhyme line. This means you could write a haiku post using the prompt words. Then do a Décima post using this week’s prompt uniting the two with a common message.
The 2 are separate but can be combined if you choose to do so.” I do choose too.

Bound and Sway. Décima.

Bound and tied, I am your plaything.
I am caught in your magic sway.
Your indulgence is all I crave
Play my senses, til my heart sings
Such delight your hands give me wings.
I sway and moan in ecstasy Use me now I’m no longer free
I beg for more, my hopes you dash.
Letting me fall with a loud bash.
You leave me breathless and empty.

Vlad’s Valentine

Vampire is that mess for me

I have a sweet tooth you see

Dear lady, this sweet is for you

Make in Eton, with love true.

Vampire what can I say

A treat for me on Valentine’s Day.

Yes my dear, but it comes with strings.

If you eat it you will grow fangs and wings.

Vampire I think I can live with that

I’ll even consort with your black cat.

Then my lady let’s away

We make spooky love come on lets play.

Scary October 8

Here we are at the unholy month of October. I thought I would do a paranormal, witchy, unholy bunch of poems, some new and some old.

Don’t forget to check out Jane Dougherty and Kat Myrman‘s plans for this month!

Today’s poem is a Vampire’s Tale

In the shadows she stands alone

Jealous of those on their way home.

Fingers ripping at her neck,

Slowly her blood drips down her white skin.

Longingly, she weaves her dreams but her hopes wear thin.

Her thoughts full of sin, watching those who who walk in the light.

She wants their bodies she craves their fright

She needs their blood she wants to devour them whole.

Here eyes searching for a victim to steal their soul.

To infect her victim with that to which there is no cure.

She watches him as he walks home from work, clean and pure.

The burning ache deep within her drives her to distraction.

She aches for him, she burns for him , she must take action.

Blood lust makes her bold and brazen she steps out of the shadows to attract him.

He moves towards her beguiled by her pale skin.

Excited by what he sees. Her body barely covered by her cape

Attracted by her jet black eyes not knowing she is fake.

His juices rising from deep within …a desperate need to sate.

Come, she whispers licking her lips

He slides his hands along her hips

She acts all soft and coy

Moving her body to his, he’s suddenly filled with joy.

He thinks she likes him, that he will have his way

Unsuspecting he follows her into the alleyway.

From human hustle and lights they move.

The danger lights should be flashing , the warnings he refuses to hear.

Too busy to notice her eyes change colour and her lips flush blood red.

She lets him slip inside of her. Lights explode in his head.

She lets him reach his highest delight , as her fangs sink in his neck

She sucks him dry and leaves him for dead.

September Music 13

For the month of September I am going to choose a piece of music or song and write a poem or alternative version. Jane Dougherty is doing a September Stanza here. And Kat Myrman is doing September a poem a day Here.

Today’s piece of music is Yo Yo Ma and Piazzola , Libertango.

My interpretation.

I need to Tango Tango,

I mean the whole fandango.

I need to strut Tango.

I need to step and side step

I need to spin and twirl

I may have body of an older woman but I am still a girl.

I need to meet the eyes of a man. I need him to hold me to him, to move me , he can can can!

I need high heels, and a red dress I want the rush I need the sex I know I will blush blush blush!

I want to Tango Tango

I need to dip and angle

I need to sway, and over, a strong arm to dangle.

I need excitement I need distraction

I really crave satisfaction, action action action!

I need to fondle and be fondled.

I need to excite and be excited OH! I need to Tango Tango

I need to see a man go wild and spin me off my feet.

I need to Tango Tango I want to tell everyone so I shall be sweet.

I need to Tango Tango in a new dress and some spangles!

I need to glide and swirl I need to to pretend and in my head be a dizzy dizzy girl and twirl twirl twirl.

Corvus Nonet.

Corvus, dark of feather bright of eye

Spread your wings and darken the sky.

You are my lover Raven

I am lost, enslaven

Unholy now am I

Take me I cry

In your wings

To fly

High.
