The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS April 25/2020

It’s Saturday and time to post LindaGHill’s #SocCs.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “val.” Find a word that starts with “val” or if you’re not doing the A to Z Challenge, find a word that just has “val” in it, and use that word any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Valediction, the action of saying goodbye or farewell. It’s a not often used word though that does not make it any less valid no to my mind it is a melodic word. It comes from the Latin Vale Dicere literally to say farewell.

People make valedictory speeches, leaving jobs or graduation but we use valediction daily when we part, go to school, working shopping, leave the house our casual, see ya, tar-ra, laters, goodbye they are all valedictory statements.

We use Valediction at weddings, father and mother to daughter or son, at funerals to loved ones and friends though obviously the valediction varies.

Anyway I think it is a beautiful word and that is why I chose it. Shall we have a valedictory song?

RUBBISH

The way  you  look at  me  sometimes

That  tone of  voice  you  use,  cuts really  deep

You  punish me  for  unknown crimes

The  fear  of  repercussions wakes me from  my sleep.

I cannot  spend my  life  walking on  eggshells

I can no  longer  fight  the  demons

You  make  me  feel  like  rubbish

I am rubbish
