They had stopped on the way home and had a good meal and several Bacardi and Coke’s . Gail had been driving and Morgarna was impressed that she’d learned to do so, so quickly.
It was late when they got back to the house and as Gail was locking the car she felt a presence. “Merlin is that you” she asked into the darkness as she felt a shiver down her spine. Pressing the button on the keyfob Gail grabbed her bag and ran through the front door!
“What’s going on” asked Merlin looking up from making coffee, “you just ran through the door without opening it Gail. It’s not a good look when you’re trying to be human? “
“What? Err, well yes but there’s something out there Merlin and it touched me” Gail answered visibly shaken.
Just then an alarm went off in the large hallway.
“What’s the darn racket Merls I am trying to have a relaxing soak!”
Shouted an irritated Morgarna from upstairs..
” It’s the new entity alarm I installed while you were away…..and its obviously working.” Merlin replied.
Morgarna stood up and heard a sharp intake of breath. Quickly she grabbed a large towel and wrapped herself in it. “Okay she said you may as well reveal yourself now as I know you are here, I heard you!”
Slowly the stream in the bathroom gathered together forming the shape of a young man…a good looking young man … covering his eyes!

Sitting in the kitchen Gail was chatting to the lad, he had been rather taken with her.
“So what made you follow us from the cemetery in Darlington? ” Gail asked.
“I just was drawn to you well all of you especially that braison one who exposed herself to me!”
“Hang on laddy ” Morgarna said as she entered the kitchen….” You actually snook into my bathroom , I didn’t invite you in!” ….. though she thought to herself I wouldn’t kick you out of bed and smiled to herself.
Merlin walked in and in a loud voice announced ” Let’s all be kind and try some of the cake Gail made earlier and then.. what’s your name lad? “John…. sir”
“Right John what is the story?”

The mood in the kitchen had become much more relaxed after everyone had, had a slice of Gail’s cake. Full of Gail’s special ingredient!
“Right John what are you doing here? Asked Morgarna, ” I assume it not just to snoop on me in the bath or brush pass our Gail here? ‘
John looked Morgarna in the eye, “no mam but it was Gail and Merlin’s conversation about ghosts and time travel that made me hope , then you arrived from nowhere and I knew I had to ask for help.”
“What do you mean” asked Merlin looking curious
“Well ” replied John. “Three hundred years ago the love of my life was cruelly snatched from me.
We were so in love but Annette was the daughter of the Lord and I was just the blacksmith’s son. Fate was against us from the start, then we found out her father had promised her hand in marriage to Sir Hugo a rich and landed knight from the next county. We decided to run away and get married, we arranged to meet in the woods by the stream. When I got there I found her waiting for me. She had her back to me so I crept up to her and kissed the back of her head.” At this point John put his head in his hands and tears fell from his eyes.
Taking a deep breath he continued. ” Suddenly she slumped back into my arms, she was covered in blood. Her throat was cut , I was so shocked I couldn’t move. …. They found me in the morning sitting by the stream with my love in my arms dead. They took me away and threw me into the cells, next I knew it had been decided that I had killed her, I never had a trial, I never got to tell anyone of my innocence! I was dragged out to the centre of the village and in front of my family and the whole village I was branded with the sign of the devil and then hung.”
“Oh! No John that’s so unfair !” said Gail her eyes wide.
“I get it” said Merlin “you’d like to know what happened “
Yes Meriln I would so when I saw two sourcerers and a Ghost I knew I had to follow you and ask for help.”
Merlin got up and went through to their library and got out his old magic and history books, he also turned on his laptop!
“Morgarna and I will start now, and hopefully John we should be able to see what we can find out what happened”
“And if we can find you some closure” added Morgarna.”

Early the next morning Morgarna and John saw the Anomaly above the patio in the back garden. They both jumped together and landed by shallow stony river meandering through some woodland.

Music Theme – Where the Unicorns Play

The Narwhal

http://assets.worldwildlife.org/photos/5900/images/story_full_width/MID_232820_Paul_Nicklen_NAtional_GEographic_Stock_WWF_Canada.jpg?1387482058

Where do  the Narwhals  live where do they  thrive

Where do  they dance and play

In the Arctic waters,  my darlings, that is where the Narwhals are alive.

They dance  and play  my  darlings in  the Straits of Davis  in  Baffin Bay

Are  they real these Narwhals are they truly the Unicorns of the sea

Do they live forever,  full of secrets and magical joy to give

Yes, yes  my darlings the Narwhal is as real and alive as you and me

I do not know, my darlings how long the Narwhal will live.

Eskimos hunt them with  canoes and spear

Eskimos slay  them  to use as food and  for their tusks and skins

The Narwhal is the Unicorn of the sea  but that they might die out is my lasting fear

Lets pray  my darlings  that the Narwhals out live the Unicorns.

Lisa picked this weeks Musical Theme  : Where Unicorns Play.  as usual I am late!

beautiful song  by America

The Maiden and the Unicorn   from the beautiful  film Legend

The Unicorn in the Bible

Job 39:9-12King James Version (KJV)

9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

12 Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

King James Version

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where Unicorns play, well that  must of  been when the world was young, maybe  just after Adam and Eve  were thrown out of Paradise the beautiful Unicorns followed them.
The  fly across the skies at night when we cannot sleep, they sing to us when our minds are rent in two with pain and sorrow. They stood at the cross at Calgary to ease Jesus’s pain.
They are  not really gone  we just are not clever enough to see them any  more!
The word machair is still current in Scottish Gaelic to mean a grassy coastal plain: it’s one of the main habitat divisions of the Outer Hebrides (machair and beach on the western shores, rocks on the eastern) and the county of Angus is traditionally divided into the Braes o’ Angus (the rough hills) and the Machair Angus (the coastal plain).
My take on Thomas the Rymer is here.
THOMAS THE RYMER
If you would ride into the borderlands alone
Or following a queen or an indistinct light
If you would be separated from the sun
Remember the sound of the waves and, Thomas, ride on.
If you would be free, then follow
If you would live, then die.
If, Thomas, you wish to feel the rough texture of bread
Rasping your hands, the tang and sweetness of wine,
Wind in the leaves, hair in your face, stroking fingers, soft rain,
Ride on.
Remember, and sing the song.
Haiku Excalibur
Today is all rush rush  so I am posting  an Arthurian Haiku that I put on poetry corner  a wonderful place to visit. Now it is important that you realize this little Haiku was written tongue in cheek. I do hope to be business as usual tomorrow!
Excalibur
All was silent all was calm
From below there arose an arm.
The birds where stilled and the breeze did drop.
The arm with the sword suddenly withdrew, kerplop!
Merlin
https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/
There was a young lad who was unsure of destiny , his name was Merlin
Striving to understand which path was mapped out for him , seeing his future unfurling.
To Camelot he was sent to help the court physician for he had a magic bent.
Gaius knew the boy had talent and a destiny to fulfill a reason he was sent.
He learnt at Gaius’s knee at first terrified of is own magic power he longed to be free
He spent most of time the butt of the young Arthur’s jokes he accepted that was how it had to be.
As he grew older his path became clearer and he knew just how to handle the prince in waiting
He took all Arthur could throw at him gently guiding him toward his path all ills anticipating.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_
Always at Arthur’s side hiding his magic well
Keeping the young king safe often using a secret spell.
For he had become fast friends with Arthur  and was all but in name an extra knight.
Merlin was the one who could always be depended upon to sort out wrongs and make disasters right.
Guinevere loved him  too he helped her to find her husband true.
Sad was he when she tarried with Lancelot blindly her vows to Arthur she forgot.
Yet Merlin knew that she was true and he convinced Arthur to harm her not.
Oh! so many tales I would tell of Merlin’s time with Arthur
But that is for another time which will be dealt with here after!
Guinevere
http://www.verymerryseamstress.com/pictures/medb01.jpg
Oh! she was so pretty  Oh!  she really was so fair.
With sparkling eyes and rosy cheeks and  raven black hair.
Slight of figure but huge of heart she has so much to give.
Arthur fell under her spell, he knew he would love her for ‘ere long they both  would live.
As she coyly looked his way her eyes sheltered by her lustrous lashes.
She knew at once he’d be her king, she knew by the way her heart was leaping into dashes.
Arthur too was smitten as he had watched her arrival with glee
For Guinevere was by far the most beautiful girl he had or would ever see.
Her Farther gladly gave her hand in marriage to king Utha’a son
Both fathers were relieved  for in this union their uniting of England was finally done.
All of Arthur’s knights were assembled to honour the new queen
Row on row of knights, armor shining flags flying. It was a joyous scene.
Among their ranks was Lancelot his eyes shining green
Looking upon Guinevere the most desirable woman he’d ever seen.
Vivian (The Lady of the Lake)
http://fc01.deviantart.net/
Tired and weary, after journeying to Avalon’s shore
The travelers  could not believe what they saw.
The young king and his wizard  true
Were in awe of what they had come here to do.
All was silent all was calm. Barely a breeze
To ripple the lake and or move the leaves.
The silver moon light lit the scene
All was silent all was calm and serene.
Suddenly a ripple crossed the lake
It grew larger, leaving silver glitter in it’s wake.
Of a sudden the waters began to swirl and churn
Up from the lake a vision rose , hard to discern .
A wondrous sight to see  from the lake rose
T’was the Lady of the lake radiant and fair of face
Every move she made was gentle and full of grace.
Her gown was of the deepest blue
A shining  sword  out from the lake she drew.
Take Excalibur Arthur  this sword is for you
There is a long and hard road ahead for you
Many and dangerous are the tasks in store for you
Take this sword and use it true  and take heed
Of Merlin he is a wise and good servant to you.
Tossing the sword toward the shore
She waited to see Arthur’s hand catch Excalibur
Then she was gone leaving the lake as it was before.
I am tired now but soon I shall tell you more!
